The Phillies have historically issued “Player of the Month” awards in two categories - Hitter and Pitcher. Below are a few nominations for the May awards along with a list of others who had good months 🤔🤓.
Hitter of the Month :
OF Justin Crawford - Lehigh Valley - 21 years old - 2022 1st round draft selection - Bishop Gorman HS, Las Vegas, NV - had a .378/.440/.489 slash line and .929 OPS in 23 games (90 AB’s, 102 PA’s) - ten multi hit games - 34 hits - 44 total bases - 10 steals - 5 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, only 10 K’s - 23 runs scored. Set franchise record by scoring a run in 14 consecutive games and had an 11 game hitting streak.
UTL Buddy Kennedy - Lehigh Valley - 26 years old - acquired in trade with Tigers 6/7/24 - re-signed to minor league contract 4/1/25 - from Millville, NJ - had a .358/.426/.632 slash line with a 1.058 OPS in 24 games (95 AB’s, 108 PA’s) - twelve multi hit games - 34 hits - 8 doubles - 6 home runs - 60 total bases - 18 runs scored - 24 RBIs.
1B Keaton Anthony - Reading - 23 years old - signed as un-drafted free agent 7/18/23 - University of Iowa - had a .385/.442/.603 slash line with a. 1.044 OPS in 22 games (78 AB’s, 86 PA’s) - eight multi hit games - 30 hits - 12 doubles - 47 total bases - 11 runs scored - 12 RBIs.
UTL Otto Kemp - Lehigh Valley - 25 years old - signed as un-drafted free agent 8/1/22 - Point Loma Nazarene University, CA - had a .322/.430/.489 slash line and .919 OPS in 23 games (90 AB’s, 107 PA’s) - seven multi hit games - 29 hits - 44 total bases - 6 steals - 6 doubles -3 home runs - 20 runs scored - 18 RBIs - 9 walks - 8 HBP.

UTL Christian Arroyo - Lehigh Valley - 30 years old - signed as free agent 2/14/25 - had a .323/.384/.462 slash line with an .846 OPS in 17 games (65 AB’s,73 PA’s) - six multi hit games - 21 hits - 30 total bases - 6 doubles - 1 home run - 9 runs scored - 10 RBIs.
