This morning we got the news that my oldest son Daniel Potter is missing. Please see the attached story. He apparently went out on his boat last evening - we desperately need to find him.

Worcester County Sheriff's Office searches for critically missing boater

WORCESTER COUNTY– The Worcester County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in finding a boater considered critically missing.

Officials say 49-year-old Daniel Potter was last seen June 10. He is believed to be in his boat, a dark blue 25-foot 2005 Hydra-Sport with identification MD13DE.

Potter's boat was last seen docked at Sunset Marina in West Ocean City, according to the Sheriff's Office. Investigators say it is unclear whether Potter departed into the bay or ocean.

Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police and the U.S. Coast Guard are assisting in search efforts.

The Sheriff Office says Potter is considered critically missing due to concerning statements to family members and is not believed to have his cell phone.

Investigators note Potter has residences in Ocean Pines and Gaithersburg, Maryland.
