If and when the 2020 season commences there no doubt will be a roster exception to the previous general rule of the “40 man” listing. In MLB’s latest proposal the active roster ranged from 26 to 29 players with an additional “taxi” squad bringing the tally to 60.
Here’s a quick attempt at the potential candidates who may be included on the list. Even if they aren’t on the “60 man roster” there’s likely more players who will be put into practice mode ... e.g. the majority of the taxi squad plus others might train at one of the minor league facilities or at Carpenter Complex as a group ... no definitive word on that ... just speculation. Perhaps 40 fellas would stay with the big club with the others “on call” in training at a satellite site ... 🤔
