International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 4 (29-37) Syracuse 2 (41-26)

Summary :


Nick Podkul hit a two run home run in the second inning scoring Cody Roberts (singled) in front of him.


Aramis Garcia and Jim Haley hit back to back home runs in the fourth inning.


A walk, single and double scored two runs for Syracuse in the 7th inning.


At Bat : 4 R, 10 H, 4 BB, 6 K’s


Aramis Garcia, Cody Roberts and Nick Podkul each had two hits.  Buddy Kennedy and Jordan Luplow each doubled.  Aramis Garcia, Nick Podkul and Jim Haley homered.


On The Hill : 2 R, 6 H, 1 BB, 12 K’s


Tyler Phillips went seven innings - 2 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 7 K’s - 91 pitches - 66 strikes.  Tyler Gilbert pitched an inning - 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - 20 pitches - 14 strikes.  Max Lazar closed it - 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 16 pitches - 10 strikes.  Phillips earned the win - he’s now 7-3 on the year.

The 'Pigs have been the best in the IL in throwing out base stealers. The 'Pigs have caught 36 runners, which is 11 more than anyone else in the league. They've only allowed 58 stolen bases total as well, which is tied for fourth fewest in the league. It's not just the catchers too, as 'Pigs outfielders have racked up 21 outfield assists.

Summary :


Kendall Simmons doubled in the second inning, Trevor Schwecke singled to score him. Bryce Ball doubled to score Schwecke.


A walk, fielding error and throwing error scored a run for Portland in the third inning.  A double and two singles scored a run for them in the fifth inning.


Carlos De La Cruz homered in the fifth inning.


Otto Kemp hit a two run home run in the 7th inning scoring Marcus Lee Sang (walked) in front of him.


On The Hill : 2 R, 6 H, 9 BB, 10 K’s


Max Castillo opened and pitched two innings - 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 18 pitches - 11 strikes.  Noah Skirrow pitched 3 innings - 2 R - 1 earned, 4 H, 4 BB, 1 K - 61 pitches - 33 strikes.  Tristan Garnett pitched two innings, 0 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 4 K’s - 44 pitches - 23 strikes.  Eury Ramos pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s -  19 pitches - 13 strikes.  Tommy McCollum finished - 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 3 BB, 1 K - 17 pitches - 4 strikes.

Carlos De La Cruz, Kendall Simmons, Trevor Schwecke and Bryce Ball each had two hits.  Simmons and Ball doubled.  De La Cruz and Otto Kemp homered.

Kendall Simmons came into tonight riding a 16-game on-base streak dating back to May 21 - he extended it to 17 games with a double in the 2nd inning tonight. Over the 16 games , he slashed .278/.409/.611, with a 1.020 OPS. He’s added 12 runs, one double, one triple, five homers and 14 RBI over that stretch. Coming into tonight Simmons 16-game on-base streak was tied with Portland’s Roman Anthony for the longest active streak in the Eastern League, after Blaze Jordan’s 20-game on-base streak was snapped last night.


South Atlantic League ( High A )  - Jersey Shore (35-27) Wilmington (29-33) - doubleheader

Game One : Wilmington 11 Jersey Shore 6 - seven innings


Summary :


Emaarion Boyd walked in the second inning and scored on a triple by William Bergolla.  Zach Arnold singled to score Bergolla.

Luis Caicuto walked.  Justin Crawford singled to score Arnold and send Caicuto to third base.  Crawford stole second base.  Aidan Miller singled to score a run.


A walk, wild pitch and fielding error scored a run for Wilmington in the third inning.


Emaarion Boyd and William Bergolla singled in the third inning. Luis Caicuto reached on a fielding error.  Justin Crawford singled to score Boyd.


Wilmington loaded the bases with two walks and a single, a triple then scored three runs. A double then scored another run.


A single, fielding error (William Bergolla) and intentional walk loaded the bases for Wilmington in the 6th inning, a balk scored a run.  A single scored two more.  A second fielding error by Bergolla scored another run


A hit batter, walk,double and ground out scored two runs for Wilmington in the 7th inning.


Emaarion Boyd tripled in the 7th inning and scored on a single by William Bergolla.



On The Hill : 11 R, 7 H, 6 BB, 11 K’s


George Klassen pitched 4 innings plus two batters into the 5th - 3 R - 2 earned, 2 H, 1 HB, 3 BB, 5 K’s - 81 pitches - 48 strikes - FB sat 96 to 99 mph. Danny Wilkinson pitched 1/3 of an inning - two inherited runners scored - 2 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 21 pitches - 10 strikes.  Daniel Harper pitched 1.1 innings - 4 R - 2 earned, 2 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 33 pitches - 22 strikes.  Mason Ronan pitched 1.1 innings - 2 R, 1 H, 1 HB, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 29 pitches - 18 strikes.

William Bergolla had three hits.  Justin Crawford, Emaarion Boyd and Aidan Millereach had two hits.  Boyd, Miller and Bergolla each tripled.


Game Two : Jersey Shore 6 Wilmington 5 - seven innings


Summary :


A walk, stolen base, ground out and wild pitch scored a run for Wilmington in the first inning.  Two singles and a sac fly scored a run in the third inning.


A double, sac bunt and two singles scored two runs for Wilmington in the 5th inning.


Troy Schreffler singled in the bottom of the fifth and scored on a single by Jordan Dissin and fielding error by Wilmington’s right fielder which also allowed Dissin to reach third base.  Justin Crawford grounded out to score Dissin.


Center fielder Emaarion Boyd made an outstanding catch to close the 6th inning.


Emaarion Boyd singled to lead off the bottom of the 6th, Erick Brito walked.  Troy Schreffler belted a double to score two runs.

Justin Crawford singled to score Schreffler.  Crawford stole second base and scored on a single by Aidan Miller.


Wilmington scored a run in the seventh on two singles and a sacrifice fly.


On The Hill : 5 R, 8 H, 2 BB, 9 K’s


Eiberson Castellano pitched five innings - 4 R, 6 H, 1 BB, 6 K’s - 93 pitches - 56 strikes.  Jack Dallas pitched a perfect inning - 2 K’s.  Andrew Walling closed it - 1 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 20 pitches - 13 strikes.


At Bat : 6 R, 9 H, 5 BB, 3 K’s


Troy Schreffler had three hits (two singles & double), scored twice and knocked in two runs. Justin Crawford had two hits and two RBIs.


Florida State League ( Low A )  - Clearwater (39-23) Tampa (23-39) - doubleheader

Game One : Clearwater 9 Tampa 4 - nine innings as scheduled


Summary : completion of suspened game from 6/14/24


With no score the game went into rain delay in the top of the third inning.  It was then suspended.


The game picked up at this point today.


Tampa scored two runs in the fourth inning on a home run by Hans Montero.


Bryson Ware homered in the 5th inning.  Diego Gonzalez singled, Jared Thomas walked and Avery Owusu-Asiedu singled to load the bases.  Devin Saltiban singled to score two runs.


Roderick Arias homered for Tampa in the 6th inning.


Pierce Bennett walked in the bottom of the 6th, stole second and scored on a single by Bryson Ware.


Avery Owusu-Asiedu doubled in the 7th and scored on a single by Jordan Viars.  Devin Saltiban and Pierce Bennett walked.

Raylin Heredia hit a grand slam home run.


Two doubles scored a run for Tampa in the 8th inning.


On The Hill : 4 R, 6 H, 5 BB, 13 K’s


Enrique Segura made his Threshers debut - 2.2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 4 K’s - he also picked two runners off at first base - 54 pitches - 27 strikes.  Jaydenn Estanisa pitched 3.1 innings - 3 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 56 pitches - 34 strikeouts. Jonh Henriquez went two innings - 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - 31 pitches - 21 strikes.  Drew Garrett closed it - 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 19 pitches - 11 strikes.


At Bat : 9 R, 10 H, 5 BB, 7 K’s


Bryson Ware, Avery Owusu-Asiedu and Diego Gonzalez each had two hits. Owusu-Asiedu and Gonzalez doubled, Ware homered.  Raylin Heredia hit a grand slam home run.  Devin Saltiban singled, walked twice and scored two runs.


Game Two - Clearwater 5 Tampa 4 scheduled for seven innings - played ten innings


Summary :


Jackson Castillo homered for Tampa to lead off the 4th inning.  A walk and double scored another run.


Four consecutive walks scored a run for the Threshers in the 4th inning.  Nikau Pouaka-Grego singled to score two runs. Bryson Ware doubled down the left field line to score a run.


A single & double scored a run for Tampa in the 6th inning.


A walk, stolen base, strikeout/passed ball and balk scored a run for Tampa in the 7th inning.


The game went into extra innings tied at four apiece.


Center fielder AJ Shaver threw the placed runner out at the plate in the top of the 8th on a ground single to center, shortstop Bryson Ware made a dicing catch on a hard liner to end the frame.


Tampa used a catcher to pitch the bottom of the tenth - Devin Saltiban doubled to score placed runner AJ Shaver with the winning run!

Brandon Beckel pitched three innings - 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 4 K’s - 41 pitches - 28 strikes.  Ethan Chenault pitched two innings - 2 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s - 33 pitches - 20 strikes - had an excellent slider tonight.  Jose Pena Jr pitched an inning - 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - 21 pitches - 14 strikes.  Saul Teran pitched an inning - 1 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 21 pitches - 11 strikes.  Jonathan Petit was excellent in extra innings - 3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - 41 pitches - 25 strikes.


At Bat : 5 R, 4 H, 6 BB, 13 K’s


Bryson Ware and Devin Saltiban doubled, Nikau Pouaka-Grego singled to score two runs.  Kehden Hettiger walked which extended his on-base streak to 17 games.


Florida Complex League - FCL Phillies (18-11) FCL Blue Jays  (6-23) - suspended - rain

Summary :


The Blue Jays posted six runs in the first three innings - the game was suspended by rain in the bottom of the fourth.


Monday, June 17 – Phillies @ Blue Jays – Today's suspended game will be completed as a 9-inning game at the Blue Jays beginning at 12:00pm. The regularly scheduled game will be rescheduled.


Monday, June 24 – Blue Jays @ Phillies – A doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 10:00am. The Phillies will be home for the first game and the Blue Jays will be home for the second game (makes up the originally scheduled game on Monday 6/17). Both games are 7 innings.

Summary :


Adrian Garcia singled in the first inning, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a throwing error. Ibrahim Ruiz reached on a strikeout/wild pitch and later scored on a single by Jalvin Arias.


Winifer Castillo singled in the 4th inning and scored on a double by Yadimir Fuentes.


Two singles and a double scored two runs for the Mets in the 5th inning.


On The Hill : 2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 10 K’s


Joshue De La Cruz pitched 4.1 innings - 2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 6 K’s.  Zuher Yousuf retired all five batters he faced in 1.2 innings - 3 K’s.

Naoel Mejia threw a perfect inning - 1 K.


At Bat : 3 R, 6 H, 2 BB, 11 K’s


Meylin De Leon had two hits (single & double).  Yadimir Fuentes doubled.


Dominican Summer League - Mets Orange 4 (4-5) Phillies White 3 (3-5) - seven innings

Summary :


Freiderman Aguilera singled in the first inning and scored on a double by Jose Marchan.  Jorge Julio walked, a double steal and throwing error by the catcher allowed Marchan to score.


The Mets scored three runs in the third inning on a single, hit batter, balk, wild pitch, walk and single.


Denilson Aguila walked in the 4th inning, Jose Familia pinch ran - he advanced to third on a passed ball and wild pitch then scored on a single by Freiderman Aguilera.


The Mets scored a run in the 6th on a triple and sacrifice fly.


On The Hill : 4 R, 7 H, 3 BB, 6 K’s


Julio Polanco pitched 3.2 innings - 3 R, 3 H, 3 BB, 3 K’s. Jorge Guzman went 2.1 innings - 1 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s.

Gelson Carpio pitched a perfect inning - 1 K.

Freiderman Aguilera had two hits (singles) and a walk, he scored a run and also had an RBI.  Francisco Loreto doubled as did Jose Marchán.
