International League ( AAA ) -  Toledo 5 (29-37) Lehigh Valley 1 (33-32)

On the Hill :


TJ Zeuch opened and went three innings, three runs, five hits, Josh Hendrickson pitched five frames, two runs, four hits and Andrew Bellatti pitched a perfect inning, one strikeout.


At the Bat :


Darick Hall had two hits and a walk.

Griff McGarry started but battled with control, went two innings, two runs, one hit, six walks. Adam Leverett threw three scoreless/hitless frames.


At the Bat :


Oliver Dunn hit two home runs, Carlos De La Cruz had two hits as did Johan Rojas, Ethan Wilson and Cody Roberts.  Roberts and Madison Stokes each doubled. Herbert Iser homered.

Gunner Mayer started and went four innings, three runs, five hits.  Wesley Moore threw two scoreless frames, one hit, two strikeouts. Tommy McCollum threw a perfect inning, two strikeouts. Orion Kerkering threw two scoreless innings.


At the Bat :


The team was held to four hits and five walks.  Nick Ward walked and singled, Gabriel Rincones Jr drew two walks.

Matt Osterberg has thrown at least six innings three times (the only three times a BlueClaws pitcher has done so) and on Wednesday became the first BlueClaws pitcher this season to throw seven innings. The left-hander gave up just two hits and one walk while striking out five.  In his last four starts, Osterberg has allowed just five earned runs in 23.2 innings with 20 strikeouts and five walks. Six pitchers threw, Alex McFarlane and Andrew Walling each threw scoreless innings.


At the Bat :


Cole Moore had three hits (two singles & double). Justin Crawford, Jordan Dissin and Felix Reyes each had two hits. Crawford tripled and had two RBIs. Bryan Rincon doubled.




Florida Complex League :


Yankees 18 (6-3) Phillies 14 (6-3)

@ Carpenter Complex, Clearwater, FL


Summary :


A four hour marathon with 32 runs, 29 hits, 17 walks, 18 strikeouts and 8 errors combined between the two teams 😳.


On the Hill :


Seven pitchers threw in the game, a rough one - 18 runs on 17 hits and 9 walks and four hit batters.


At the Bat :


Diego Gonzalez had three hits and a walk and scored twice.  Raylin Heredia, Dakota Kotowski and Marco Soto each had two hits.  Heredia and Jackie Pertuz doubled.  Kotowski, Gavin Tonkel and Cam Cannon homered.  Heredia had three RBIs and stole two bases. Baron Radcliff walked three times.  Tonkel’s home run was his first as a pro.




Dominican Summer League :


Phillies Red 5 (5-4) Colorado 4 (6-3) - 10 innings @ Rockies Training Complex


Summary :


Renair Manrique delivered the game winning hit, a single in the 10th inning.


On the Hill :


Luis Alcala threw three scoreless innings in relief, three hits, one walk.  Ezequiel Ventura pitched two scoreless and posted his second win.


At the Bat :


Andres Hernandez had three hits.



Phillies White 5 (7-2) Cardinals 1 (3-6)

Summary :


The Phillies never trailed scoring two in the first and two in the fourth.


On the Hill :


Alexis De La Cruz went four innings, one unearned run, three hits, no walks, five strikeouts. Carlos Millan pitched three innings, no runs, two hits, no walks,  two strikeouts and Josbel Garcia went two scoreless innings, two hits, no walks.


At the Bat :


Jerffson Peña had two hits and three RBIs, Angel Mata had two hits, Aroon Escobar and Jorge Julio (16 years old) each doubled.



Player Development Center Rehab Action :


McKinley Moore and Andrew Painter threw side bullpen sessions.  Christian McGowen, Micah Ottenbreit and Elicier Bata threw live bullpens.  Kendall Simmons, Nikau Pouaka-Grego and Randy Vasquez were the hitters in live BP.


Andrew Painter threw twenty five to thirty pitches, pitched to location, (left,right, up and down) and had good control.  He always draws a crowd of fellow players along with many coaches, the coaching staff seemed pleased with the session.  Continuing progress, still a ways to go.


Transactions :


Lehigh Valley : LHP Josh Hendrickson transferred to Lehigh Valley from Reading.  OF Cristian Pache recalled from his rehab assignment with Lehigh Valley by Philadelphia. OF Dalton Guthrieoptioned to Lehigh Valley from Philadelphia.


Clearwater - RHP Zach Haake transferred from the FCL Phillies.


FCL Phillies : RHP Dominic Pipkin (High-A Jersey Shore 60-day IL) began a minor league rehab assignment.
