Summary :
Kendall Simmons muscled a ball over the right center field fence in the first inning for his first home run of the season. He launched a high pitch that jumped out even though it appeared he didn’t get it all. Later in the game he singled on another high fastball, the young man gets on the high pitches better than most I’ve seen anyone, many players can’t get to those, great bat speed 💪.
Daytona plated a run in the second inning on a home run by Brandon Leyton. They scored two more in the third inning and three in the fifth on a three run home run by Leonardo Seminati.
On The Hill :
LH Rafael Marcano - 1 1/3 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 3 K’s - 45 pitches - 25 strikes - a rare struggle for the young hurler, just seemed out of sync
LH Tyler Adams - 1 2/3 IP, 2 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s - 27 pitches - 15 strikes
RH Hsin-Chieh Lin - 2 1/3 IP, 3 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 4 K’s - 40 pitches - 20 strikes - noticeable difference in velocity ( down ) since we last saw him in 2019 - pitched backwards with off speed as primary in this one
RH Brendan Bell - 1 2/3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 21 pitches - 13 strikes
At Bat :
Kendall Simmons had two of the team’s three hits including a HR. Johan Rojas tripled off the left field wall, he can fly around the bases.
Notes :
Yhoswar Garcia threw a runner out at the plate to end the second inning, very accurate and strong throw from right field. He later made a nice running catch on a deep fly ball to the warning track.
