International League ( AAA ) -  Rochester 5 (2-1, 36-40) Lehigh Valley 4 (1-2, 37-39)

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park



On the Hill :


Drew Hutchison pitched five and two third innings, one run, five hits, two walks and four strikeouts.  Jacob Barnes went one and a third scoreless.  Trey Cobb got a double play from the one batter he faced.


At the Bat :


Simon Muzziotti had three hits and an RBI. Scott Kingery had two hits.  Jake Cave homered, Weston Wilson tripled.  Darick Hall singled, walked and had a sac fly RBI.

Griff McGarry went five innings, two runs, four hits, two walks, seven strikeouts.  Cristian Hernandez went one and two thirds, one run.  Brett Schulze went one and a third scoreless and Tyler McKay posted his 4th save with a scoreless inning.

At the Bat :


Matt Kroon (single & double), Nick Podkul (double & HR) and Oliver Dunn (two singles) each had two hits.

Casey Martin doubled.

Starter Gunner Mayer went one and two thirds, five relievers followed.  Jack Dallas went two and one third scoreless including stranding three inherited runners. Jason Ruffcorn, Mitch Neunborn and Tommy McCollum each pitched a scoreless frame.


At the Bat :


Rixon Wingrove singled and doubled, Anthony Quirion homered.

Jean Cabrera went five scoreless, two hits, two walks, five strikeouts.  Konnor Ash pitched two and one third innings, one run allowed. Jonh Henriquez closed with two perfect innings, four strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Felix Reyes hit a single, double and home run, he posted four RBIs.  Cade Fergus singled and tripled, walked twice and had two RBIs.  Emaarion Boyd had two hits and stole his 39th base of the season. Ricardo Rosario and Otto Kemp each had two hits.

Phillies (10-9) Blue Jays (6-13) - Doubleheader

Game One :  Blue Jays 7 Phillies 6 - nine innings


Summary :


The Blue Jays scored a first inning run on a home run by Sammy Hernandez.  Yhoangel Aponte hit a three run home run for them in the third inning.


The Phillies scored twice in the bottom of the third on four singles; Gavin Tonkel, Jehisbert Sevilla, Raylin Heredia and Yhoswar Garcia (two RBIs).


Jehisbert Sevilla doubled in the fifth inning and scored on a single by Raylin Heredia.


Jean Joseph homered for the Blue Jays in the sixth.


Ty Penner doubled in the bottom of the sixth and went to third on a wild pitch, he scored on a second wild pitch. Jorge Mendez walked, Santiago Torres pinch ran for him and scored on a triple by Lou Helmig.


The game went into extra innings.


The Blue Jays scored two in the top of the ninth on a walk, wild pitch and two singles.


The Phillies scored once in the bottom of the ninth as the placed runner scored on a groundout by Yhoswar Garcia.


On the Hill :


Five pitchers were used, Chase Webster pitched two and one third scoreless innings.


At the Bat :


Raylin Heredia had three hits, a walk, stolen base and an RBI, Ty Penner and Jehisbert Sevilla each had two hits.  Penner and Sevilla doubled, Lou Helmig tripled. Yhoswar Garcia had three RBIs.



Game Two : Phillies 8 Blue Jays 1


Summary :


Edward Duran homered for the Blue Jays in the second inning.


Dakota Kotowski homered for the Phillies in the bottom of the second.


Jackie Pertuz singled to score a run in the fourth, another scored on a ground out by Ryan Holgate.


Leanardo Rondon singled to score a run in the fifth, Marco Soto hit a sac fly to score another.  Diego Gonzalez and Jackie Pertuz each singled to score two more.


On the Hill :


Giuseppe Velasquez pitched four innings, one run, two hits, one walk and seven strikeouts.  Nathan Karaffa went three innings, no runs, one hit, one walk, one strikeout.


At the Bat :


Dakota Kotowski, Jackie Pertuz and Santiago Torres each had two hits.  Kotowski homered and Pertuz had three RBIs.



Dominican Summer League :


Phillies Red 9 (12-7) Mets Blue 0 (8-10)

Summary :


Manolfi Jiménez doubled to score a run in the first, another scored on a wild pitch.


Manolfi Jiménez singled to score a run in the third, another scored on a wild pitch.


Brahian Silva and Juan Villavicencio singled to knock in runs in the fourth.


Juan Villavicencio tripled to plate a run in the sixth, he scored on a single by Nolan Beltran.


Nolan Beltran hit a sac fly to score an eighth inning run.


On the Hill :


Three pitchers combined for the shutout, seventeen year old Luis Gonzalez went five innings, four hits, one walk, three strikeouts.   Eduardo Robles and Ezequiel Ventura each pitched two innings.


At the Bat :


Juan Villavicencio had three hits (single, double, triple).   Nolan Beltran, Eduardo Tait, Esterling Rodriquez, Manolfi Jiménez and Brahian Silva each had two hits.  Rodriquez had two doubles, Jiménez and Jose Leanez also doubled.



Phillies White 8 (14-5) Cardinals 3 (4-14) - seven innings

Summary :


The Phillies scored six in the third inning, Romel Mendez hit an RBI single, Yemil Rosario drove home two with a single.  Jarol Martinez had an RBI single, Leny Carela an RBI sac fly and Luis Pelegrín and RBI walk.


Luis Atocha hit a home run for the Cardinals in the fourth.


Darium Gutierrez scored a run with a double in the sixth, another scored on an error.


The Cardinals scored twice in the bottom of the seventh.


On the Hill :


Alexis De La Cruz went three and one third scoreless, one hit, seven strikeouts.  Three relievers followed, Elicier Bata threw a perfect inning, one strikeout.


At the Bat :


Darium Gutierrez doubled, the team had five hits.  Romel Mendez walked twice.



System Transactions :


Clearwater : Placed LHP Andrew Walling on the seven-day injured list.  Transferred C Kliubert Avila from the FCL Phillies to the Clearwater Threshers.
