6/8/25 : Phillies Minor Leagues : week in review (6/2 - 6/8)

International League (AAA) : Lehigh Valley (43-20)


The IronPigs went 2-4 visiting Charlotte (White Sox affiliate). Otto Kemp had two hits (double & HR) with two RBIs and three runs scored in Tuesday’s win. Justin Crawford had three hits in Thursday’s victory. Oscar Mercado hit a grand slam home run on Saturday. Rafael Lantigua had three hits (two singles & HR, three runs scored, three RBIs) on Sunday.


Justin Crawford went 6 for 11 (.545) in the series, Rafael Lantigua 5 for 16 (.313) with seven runs scored and Erick Brito 4 for 11 (.364) for the week.


Eastern League (AA) : Reading (20-35)


Reading was 2-4 visiting Harrisburg (Nationals affiliate). Aidan Miller had two hits and posted three RBIs, he also stole two bases on Tuesday, Keaton Anthony and Paul McIntosh homered in Wednesday’s game. Four pitchers excelled on Thursday in a 4-1 bullpen game win. Hendry Mendez had three hits on Friday and RH Jean Cabrera pitched six innings (two runs). RH reliever Tommy McCollum threw three perfect innings in the series in his two appearances. Paul McIntosh hit two home runs and RH Wil Crowe threw five scoreless innings on Saturday. RH Chuck King pitched five innings (2 R - 1 earned) on Sunday.


Harrisburg won three of the games on walkoff hits - two were home runs by former Phillies minor leaguer Carlos De La Cruz.


Keaton Anthony went 7 for 24 (.292) with two home runs and five RBIs during the week and Josh Breaux  was 4 for 10 (.400).  Paul McIntosh hit three home runs and drove in six runs.


South Atlantic League  (High A) : Jersey Shore (21-35)


The BlueClaws were 3-3 visiting Bowling Green (Rays affiliate). Elio Prado had two hits on Tuesday. RH reliever Saul Teran made his BlueClaws debut on Wednesday with a perfect inning of work striking out two batters. Bryson Ware had four hits (two singles, double and HR) on Thursday. Carson DeMartini had five hits in a doubleheader sweep on Saturday, LH Mavis Graves threw four no hit, no run innings in game one, RH Casey Steward threw five innings (two runs) in game two.  Carson DeMartini hit two home runs and posted three RBIs on Sunday - RH Andrew Baker struck out five batters over the last two innings to post the win.


Carson DeMartini was 9 for 25 (.360) with seven runs scored, three home runs and six RBIs in the series, Bryson Ware went 8 for 17 (.471) and  Elio Prado was 8 for 20 (.400). Ware and Prado each homered and posted five RBIs.


Florida State League (Low A)  : Clearwater (31-26)


The Threshers went 2-4 hosting Bradenton (Pirates affiliate). Aroon Escobar homered twice with four RBIs on Tuesday. RH Jose Pena Jr continued to shine with 1.1 scoreless innings of relief on Thursday to close out a win. RH Adilson Peralta threw four scoreless innings in relief on Saturday, rehab assignment Caleb Ricketts had two hits including a home run. Ricketts had an even bigger day on Sunday ending it with a grand slam walk-off home run - he had four hits (single, two doubles, grand slam HR) and four RBIs. Dante Nori had four hits (singles), walked, stole a base, scored three times and drove in five runs in the 15-12 comeback ten inning Sunday win!


Caleb Ricketts was 7 for 13 (.538) with three doubles, two home runs, five RBIs and six runs scored for the series. Eduardo Tait went 8 for 21 (.381) with four doubles and a home run plus four walks - he posted a .480 OBP in 25 PA’s, Kodey Shojinaga 5 for 15 (.333), Jose Rodriquez 3 for 8 (.375), Joel Dragoo 4 for 13 (.308) and Raider Tello 6 for 20 (.300).


Florida Complex League Phillies (8-18)


The FCL club went 3-3 during the week. Victor Cardoza and Alirio Ferrebus each had three hit games on Monday against the Yankees. RH Raymon Marquez (4 IP), RH Guissepe Velasquez (3 IP) and RH Danyony Pulido (1 IP) combined for a rain shortened shutout win on Tuesday over the Tigers. Manolfi Jimenez had three hits on Thursday versus the Tigers. RHP Brad Pacheco threw a complete game (seven innings) shutout on Friday against the Blue Jays striking out eight batters while allowing just two hits. TJayy Walton, Manolfi Jimenez and Angel Mata each had two hits on Saturday against the Blue Jays, RH Luis Gonzalez threw four scoreless innings, Danyony Pulido made his second appearance of the week and tossed a perfect frame.


Manolfi Jimenez was 9 for 21 (.429) with four doubles, two triples and four RBIs during the week, Victor Cardoza 7 for 18 (.389), Francisco Loreto 4 for 10 (.400), Adrian Garcia 7 for 20 (.350), TJayy Walton 4 for 12 (.333) and Alirio Ferrebus 7 for 22 (.318).


Domincan Summer League Phillies Red (2-2)


The Red club went 2-2 during the week. They lost 28-5 against the Marlins in Monday’s opening day but bounced back to beat the same Marlins 6-3 the next day. Sixteen year oldRH Geremy Villoria threw four scoreless innings in Tuesday’s game. Thursday’s game against the Rangers was suspended in the seventh inning in a 6-6 tie due to rain. RHP Deiry Gonzalez threw four scoreless innings on Friday against the Yankees. RHP Maicol Lauriano threw two perfect innings on Saturday against the Giants. Nieves Izaguirre had a .438 OBP in 16 plate appearances with five walks and two stolen bases during the week.



Domincan Summer League Phillies White (3-2)


The White club went 3-2 during the week. RH Joshue De La Cruz pitched four scoreless innings on Monday against Miami. Samuel Salcedo had three hits (two singles & grand slam HR), walked, scored three runs and had six RBIs in a 19-16 slugfest win over the Twins on Tuesday. LH Jorge Guzman threw four scoreless innings on Thursday against the Blue Jays. On Friday three pitchers (RH Eduardo Robles, RH Cristhian Espinosa, RH Albertt Medina) threw three innings each without allowing an earned run in a 3-2 win over the Rockies. LHP Zuher Yousuf tossed 3.1 innings (one run) on Saturday against Miami.


Rey Cruz was 5 for 9 (.556) during the week with a triple, six runs scored and five RBIs. Maylerson Casanova was 5 for 13 (.385), Ibrahim Ruiz 4 for 10 (.400), Elian Adames 6 for 18 (.333), Samuel Salcedo had a home run and eight RBIs. Maykol Fernandez posted a .643 OBP in 14 plate appearances with six walks.
