International League ( AAA ) -  Lehigh Valley 6 (2-2, 38-39) Rochester 4 (2-2, 36-41)

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park



On the Hill :


Bailey Falter went four innings, one run, three hits, two walks and three strikeouts.  Jeremy Walker threw a scoreless inning, Luis Ortiz pitched two innings, one run.  Andrew Bellatti threw a scoreless frame.


At the Bat :


Scott Kingery homered.  Jake Cave singled and doubled.  John Hicks had two hits, a single and a walk-off two run home run.

Coming into tonight’s game “fully healthy after mid-season thumb surgery, Darick Hall has been on a tear. He was on a seven-game hitting streak where he's 13-for-28 with a homer and five driven in. Since June 4, Hall is slashing .343/.425/.575 with three homers and an OPS of 1.001. David Parkinson went six innings, four runs.  Braden Zarbnisky threw two scoreless frames and Max Kuhns threw a perfect inning.


At the Bat :


Cody Roberts and Nick Podkul doubled, the team was held to four hits.

Zach Haake started and went five scoreless innings, four hits, one walk and six strikeouts. Cam Wynne pitched a perfect frame, two strikeouts.  Malik Binns, Wesley Moore and Jordi Martinez each threw an inning to complete the shutout.


At the Bat :


Hao Yu Lee had three hits (two singles & double), Nick Ward had two hits (single & HR).  Erick Brito had two hits, Marcus Lee Sang doubled.  Aramis Garcia doubled and had two RBIs.

Estibenzon Jiménez went five innings, five runs (one earned), six hits, three walks, six strikeouts.  Noah Song pitched an inning, one run, one hit, two walks and a strikeout, he was 90 to 92 mph with the heater, also threw a curve, slider and change up. Dominic Pipkin threw a perfect frame with two strikeouts, he topped out at 98 mph on his fastball. Seth Nightingale threw a perfect inning.


At the Bat :


Emaarion Boyd had three hits (two singles & double) and stole his 40th base of the season.  Felix Reyes doubled.

Summary :


Yhoswar Garcia tripled in the first inning and then stole home. 👀


Raylin Heredia, Yhoswar Garcia and Pedro Martinez singled in the third inning to load the bases, a run scored on a balk.


The Blue Jays scored a run in the bottom of the third on a walk, fielding error and groundout.


Yhoswar Garcia reached on an error in the fifth inning, stole second and scored on a single by Pedro Martinez.


The Phillies scored seven runs in the sixth inning, Leonardo Rondon singled to score one, Lou Helmig singled to score another, Jehisbert Sevilla doubled to score a run, Yhoswar Garcia singled to score one, Pedro Martinez grounded out to score a run, Dakota Kotowski singled to score one and Ty Penner hit a sac fly to score the seventh run.


Randy Vasquez tripled to score a run in the eighth inning, Dakota Kotowski singled to score Vasquez.


The Blue Jays scored five in the bottom of the 8th on two singles, two walks, hit batter, wild pitch and a double.  They scored twice in the ninth on a walk, single and double.


On the Hill :


Micah Ottenbreit returned to action, the twenty year old right hander pitched two scoreless innings, no hits, one walk, he got four ground outs (one a double play) and one fly out, faced just six batters.  I’ve watched him progress in his bullpens, the young man has very good stuff, it’s been a long road back from TJ surgery from April of 2022.  Great to see him back competing!   Daniel Mejia pitched four innings, one unearned run, one hit, two walks, three strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Yhoswar Garcia had three hits including a triple, he stole two bases.  Dakota Kotowski also had three hits, he posted two RBIs.  Pedro Martinez had two hits and two RBIs.




Dominican Summer League :


Giants Orange 4 (11-9)  Phillies Red 3 (12-8)

Summary :


Soyger Brizuela homered for the Giants in the first inning.


Manolfi Jiménez singled to score a run in the bottom of the first.  He stole second and on the same play Eduardo Tait stole home.


Victor Cardoza singled to score a run in the fourth.


In the bottom of the fourth the Giants scored three runs, one on a home run by Angel Guzman.


On the Hill :


Luis Alcala pitched three scoreless frames in relief, one hit, one walk, three strikeouts.


At the Bat :


The team had seven singles, no player had multiple hits nor extra base hits.



Phillies White 7 (15-5) Rangers Red 0 (9-11)

Summary :


Starlyn Caba reached on an error in the first inning, advanced to third on a double by Yoangel Ramos and scored on a ground out by Angel Mata.


The Phillies scored six runs in the second inning, one on an RBI single by Andres Taberas, another on an RBI single by Starlyn Caba.  One run scored on a ground out, another on a fielding error. Darium Gutierrez doubled to score two more.


On the Hill :


Six pitchers combined for the shutout : Pedro Reyes,Luis Avila & Javier Fuenmayor (1 IP each) & Angel Liranzo, John Sosa & Carlos Millan ( 2 IP each)


At the Bat :


The team had six hits, Yoangel Ramos and Darium Gutierrez doubled, Gutierrez and Angel Mata each had two RBIs.



System Transactions :


Reading : Reinstated David Parkinson from the Development List.  Placed Mick Abel on the Development List.


Jersey Shore : RHP Zach Haake transferred to Jersey Shore from Clearwater, C Aramis Garcia (Lehigh Valley 7-day IL) begins a Minor League rehab assignment.  RHP Sam Jacobsak released by the Phillies.


Clearwater : Transferred RHP Oswald Medina from the FCL Phillies.
