7/10/24 : Minor League Roundup

International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 12 (9-5,43-44) Buffalo 5 (4-10,41-47)

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park

Summary :

Riley Tirotta hit a three run home run for Buffalo in the first inning.

Weston Wilson and Nick Podkul walked in the bottom of the first inning.  Jim Haley singled to score Wilson.

Aramis Garcia walked in the third inning and scored on the combination of a single by Weston Wilson and fielding error by Akron’s left fielder.  Buddy Kennedy reached on a throwing error by the shortstop and Carlos De La Cruz reached on a fielding error by the shortstop which also allowed Wilson to score. Nick Podkul singled. Jim Haley singled to score a run. Scott Kingery hit a grand slam home run!

Cal Stevenson walked in the fourth inning, stole second (22nd of season) and scored on a single by Scott Kingery.  Kingery stole second and scored on a double by Cody Roberts. Weston Wilson hit a sacrifice fly to score a run.

Two walks, a single, wild pitch and single scored two runs for Buffalo in the 5th.

Aramis Garcia doubled in the 6th inning, Buddy Kennedy singled.  Nick Podkul singled to score Garcia.

The first 1-2-3 inning of the game came in the top of the 8th inning 😳.

It was a three and half hour contest.

At Bat : 12 R, 15 H, 7 BB, 10 K’s

Jim Haley had three hits (singles).  Scott Kingery singled and hit a grand slam home run, his 16th home run of the season, he posted five RBIs.  Cody Roberts had two hits (single & double) and an RBI.  Buddy Kennedy had two hits (singles).  Nick Podkul had two hits (singles) and two walks. Cal Stevenson singled and walked twice each.  Aramis Garcia doubled and walked twice.

Weston Wilson singled and walked and smoked two other balls that were caught.

On The Hill : 5 R, 7 H, 8 BB, 11 K’s

Nick Nelson opened and pitched 2.1 innings - 3 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 1 K - 54 pitches - 27 strikes.  Ricardo Pinto pitched 2.2 innings - 2 R, 3 H, 3 BB, 2 K’s - 61 pitches - 34 strikes.  Taylor Lehman pitched a scoreless inning - 0 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 25 pitches - 14 strikes.

Eury Ramos pitched two innings - 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - 25 pitches - 17 strikes.  Max Lazar pitched an inning - 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 19 pitches - 12 strikes.

The 'Pigs popped five solo homers on Saturday for the win against SWB. The five homers ties for the most they've hit in the game this season and featured some unique feats: Cal Stevenson hit the 7th leadoff homer of the season for the 'Pigs, Darick Hall tied Andy Tracy for the franchise career mark for homers, Jim Haley had the 11th multi-homer game of the season for the 'Pigs (his first multi-HR game since 5/11/22), and Haley &  Scott Kingery went back-to-back, the fourth time the 'Pigs have done that this season. Summary :

Petey Halprin hit a three run home run for Akron in the third inning.  Milan Tolentino homered for them in the fourth inning.

Marcus Lee Sang walked in the sixth inning, Caleb Ricketts was hit by a pitch.  Carson Taylor doubled to score two runs.

A double and single scored a run for Akron in the seventh.  Milan Tolentino for the second time in the game in the 8th inning.

Robert Moore homered in the bottom of the eighth inning.

On The Hill :  6 R, 12 H, 1 BB, 9 K’s

Robinson Pina pitched five innings - 4 R, 7 H, 1 BB, 7 K’s - 83 pitches - 55 strikes.  Carlos Francisco pitched 1.1 innings - 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s - 24 pitches - 17 strikes.  Daniel Harper pitched 1.2 innings - 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s - 22 pitches - 18 strikes.  Andrew Baker pitched an inning - 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 19 pitches - 13 strikes.

At Bat : 3 R, 5 H, 4 BB, 7 K’s

Carson Taylor doubled, walked and had two RBIs.  Caleb Ricketts doubled.  Robert Moore homered.

Prior to Tuesday night’s game, the Phillies promoted pitching prospects Samuel Aldegheri and Jean Cabrera from High-A Jersey Shore. Both have been impressive, winning South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week accolades. Cabrera will start Thursday and Aldegheri will get the ball on Friday. - Media Notes

Emaarion Boyd walked in the first inning, advanced to third on a single by Erick Brito and scored on a sacrifice fly by Keaton Anthony.

Felix Reyes singled in the fourth inning, went to second when Jordan Dissin reached on an error and scored on Ryan Leitch’s single. Zach Arnold singled, Troy Schreffler singled to score Dissin.  Emaarion Boyd doubled to score two runs. Keaton Anthony singled to score two runs.

Troy Schreffler and Zach Arnold singled in the 6th inning, Emaarion Boyd reached on a fielder’s choice (Schreffler out) and Arnold moved to third, he scored when the baseball got lodged in the catcher’s chest protector (e2).

Christopher Familia hit a three run home run for HV in the seventh inning after two teammates reached base via walks.

Jordan Dissin and Ryan Leitch singled in the seventh inning.  Zach Arnold grounded out to score a run.

Erick Brito reached on a force out in the 8th, went to third base on a two base throwing error on a pickoff attempt by HV’s pitcher and scored on a sacrifice fly by Keaton Anthony.

HV scored a run in the ninth on a single, ground out and fielding error.

On The Hill : 4 R, 4 H, 6 BB, 8 K’s

Mitch Neunborn pitched five innings - 0 R, 1 H, 1 HB, 2 BB, 5 K’s - 75 pitches - 47 strikes.  Trey Dillard pitched 1.1 innings - 3 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 1 K - 26 pitches - 15 strikes.   Danny Wilkinson pitched 2/3 of an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s - 13 pitches - 5 strikes. Jack Dallas finished - he went two innings - 1 unearned R,  2 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 41 pitches - 26 strikes.

At Bat : 10 R, 12 H, 5 BB, 3 K’s

Zach Arnold, Ryan Leitch and Troy Schreffler each had two hits (singles).  Emaarion Boyd doubled and walked, scored twice and posted two RBIs.  Keaton Anthony singled and walked, had two sacrifice flys and posted four RBIs.  Every batter in the lineup had at least one hit.

Super Mari : Emaarion Boyd has been at the forefront of both BlueClaws walk-off wins this year. On Tuesday, his

two-run walk-off single won the game in the ninth.  On Opening Night (April 5th) he tied the game with a triple in the

ninth and scored the winner on a wild pitch.  Boyd is now 9-19 so far in July and 27-82 (.329) since July 6th. He hit his second home run of the season on July 6th against Wilmington, a three run shot in the first inning. His other homer was a grand slam on June 9th at Greensboro. - Media Notes

Summary : completion of 7/9/24 suspended game

A double and single scored a run for Palm Beach in the second inning.

The game went into weather delay in the bottom of the third inning. It was eventually suspended and was picked up at this point today.

Palm Beach scored a third inning run on a walk, single, fielders choice and single.

On The Hill :  2 R, 8 H, 4 BB, 7 K’s

Luke Russo pitched two innings - 1 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 31 pitches - 19 strikes.  Jonathan Petit went three innings - 1 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s - 63 pitches - 40 strikes.  Chase Hopewell pitched two scoreless innings -2 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 32 pitches - 19 strikes.  Ethan Chenault pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 1 HB, 0 BB, 1 K - 10 pitches - 8 strikes

At Bat : 0 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 7 K’s

TJayy Walton doubled.  Jordan Viars tripled.

Game Two : Suspended - fifth inning (scheduled for seven innings)

Summary :

A walk, single, sacrifice bunt, single, hit batter and triple scored four runs for Palm Beach in the third inning.

Pierce Bennett singled in the fourth inning, Dakota Kotowski walked.  They both scored on a three run home run by Diego Gonzalez.

The game went into rain delay with two outs in the top of the fifth inning.  It was eventually suspended.

On The Hill :

Enrique Segura pitched three innings - 4 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 5 K’s - 71 pitches - 44 strikes.  Brandon Beckel pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 12 pitches - 8 strikes.

At Bat :

Dakota Kotowski doubled.  Diego Gonzalez hit a three run home run.
