1 - #36 overall - SS Tyler Spangler - De La Salle HS - California - 18 years old - 6’-3”, 195 pounds - LH hitter
Committed to Stanford University. From the East Bay Area of San Francisco - Concord, CA. De La Salle HS is a private Catholic school.
MLB - “De La Salle High School in Northern California has produced just one big leaguer in left-hander Kyle Harrison and has never had a first-round pick come from its program. Spangler is a big shortstop with impressive all-around tools that he showcased at events like MLB’s High School All-American Game and the Area Code Games after being named the Metro Player of the Year as a junior by the San Francisco Chronicle. He wasn't able to build off of that as a back issue kept him sidelined for his senior season, though he did attend the Draft Combine to show what he could do. Because of Spangler’s size – he’s at least 6-foot-3 – his instincts and throwback approach to the game, more veteran baseball people have mentioned he reminds them of a young Cal Ripken Jr. type and because he hits left-handed, there are the invariable Corey Seager comparisons. Spangler is more polish than flash with a simple, solid approach at the plate, finding the barrel consistently. He can get to his pull side power at times and more thump should come as he fills out his frame and if he starts committing to getting the ball in the air more. An average runner, Spangler’s instincts make him a good baserunner and also give him the chance to stick at shortstop. He has easy actions defensively, with good hands and while he lacks explosive range, he tends to always be in a good position to make all the plays. If he gets too big, third base is always an option for the Stanford recruit.”
2 - #64 overall - OF Caden Bogenpohl - Missouri State - 21 years old - 6’6” 245 pounds - LH hitter
Is from Jackson, Missouri and graduated from Jackson HS. Three-time all-state HS selection who pitched and played in the outfield. In college had one of the best seasons by a freshman in school history, hitting .293 with 20 home runs and 45 RBIs. As a sophomore he batted leadoff and patrolled center field for the majority of the season, hitting .296 with 13 home runs and 44 RBIs. Batted .274 with six homers, 11 doubles, 33 RBIs and a team-leading 57 runs scored as a Junior.
MLB - “Missouri State has produced big league batting champions (Bill Mueller), home run leaders (Ryan Howard, Luke Voit) and Rookie of the Year Award winners (Drake Baldwin). Now the Bears feature one of the most physically imposing and powerful hitters in the 2026 Draft. Bogenpohl broke Howard's school freshman home run record with 20 in 2024 and tied another Missouri State mark with 55 walks last spring. The 6-foot-6, 245-pound Bogenpohl offers plus-plus raw power from the left side of the plate and can crush pitches out of the park from foul pole to foul pole, yet he only homered six times in 55 games as a junior. He generated some of the best exit velocities (peaking at 119 mph) but also some of the highest groundball rates (53 percent) in the 2026 college class. He employs a disciplined approach and won't chase when pitchers refuse to challenge him, but he's also leaking open early and not doing damage on offerings on the outer half of the plate. His extra-large frame results in an extra-long stroke, too much in-zone swing-and-miss and difficulties against non-fastballs. Bogenpohl has surprising athleticism for his size and shows solid speed once he gets going. He has played a capable center field in college but likely is destined for an outfield corner in pro ball. After showing well-above-average arm strength in the past, his throwing grades more as average to solid now.”
Baseball America - “Bogenpohl is a monstrous presence in the batter’s box, with a 6-foot-6 245-pound frame and some of the most impressive raw power in the 2026 class. He regularly produces some of the loudest exit velocities in the country and has at least 70-grade raw power—perhaps 80. He has a real chance to play center, where he’s played for Missouri State and in the Cape Cod League, though his size and above-average arm would make a more natural fit in right field.”
3 - #100 overall - RHP Ruger Riojas - Texas -22 years old - 6’0” 195 pounds.
Is from Wimberley, Texas and graduated from Wimberley HS - Two-year letterman at Wimberley - Two-time All-State selection. Spent his first two collegiate seasons at UTSA - transferred to Texas for his junior year. Played two seasons at Texas - 2026 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll.
MLB - “Riojas won 15 games in two years as a reliever at Texas-San Antonio before transferring to Texas, where he worked his way into the rotation by mid-2025. He was pitching himself toward the top three rounds before coming down with the flu and bronchitis, costing him 20 pounds and sapping his stuff as he surrendered 27 runs in 14 2/3 innings over his final starts. After going unselected last July, he has emerged as one of the best senior prospects in the 2026 Draft. By regaining the weight he lost and adding another 10 pounds, Riojas boosted his four-seam fastball 2-3 mph to parking at 94-96 and peaking at 98 with carry. His heater has been unhittable at times when he has commanded it to both sides of the plate this spring. He uses a diving 82-85 mph splitter as his changeup and it has been just as untouchable. His upper-80s cutter can be a plus pitch at its best, and he also deploys a sweepier mid-80s slider and a low-80s curveball. Riojas will unleash four-seamers, curveballs, cutters and splitters from a high three-quarters arm slot, then mix in two-seamers and sliders from a lower angle. He pounds the zone with his entire arsenal, and all of his pitches save his slider elicit plenty of chases as well. The only real knocks on him are that he's not terribly deceptive and he'll turn 23 on Draft Day, but he's advanced enough to make his pro debut in Double-A and could help a big league rotation in a hurry.”
4 - #128 overall - RHP Deven Sheerin - LSU - 20 years old - 6’5” 245 pounds
Is from Reading, PA and graduated from Exeter HS. Played both baseball and basketball at Exeter. Originally attended Mount St Mary’s after HS where he played one season - in his freshman season at Mount St. Mary’s - named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and received first-team All-MAAC recognition, leading the league in strikeouts. Was a medical redshirt his first year at LSU.
MLB - “Sheerin broke into college baseball by winning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year accolades and setting Mount St. Mary's records for strikeouts (109), strikeouts per nine innings (14.0) and opponent average (.197) in 2024. One of the top transfers on the portal market that year, he moved to Louisiana State but tore an anterior cruciate ligament while playing basketball that summer and missed all of 2025 following left knee surgery. He has returned this year throwing 3 mph harder than he did as a freshman and some teams rate him as the best reliever available. Sheerin's fastball now sits at 95-97 mph and tops out at 100, exploding on hitters with carry and armside run. He does a nice job of throwing his tight mid-80s slider for strikes, though it doesn't miss as many bats as it should. He'll flash a low-80s curveball with depth and an upper-80s splitter, but he relies almost exclusively on his heater and slide piece. Sheerin has a 6-foot-5 frame and gets down the mound well, creating good extension, and his low arm slot and crossfire delivery provide plenty of deception. With his mechanics and effort, he's definitely a reliever. If he can upgrade his slider and fringy control, he could be a late-inning option as a pro.”
4C - # 135 overall - RHP Jaxon Jelkin - Kentucky - 23 years old - 6’5” 195 pounds
Is from Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Bellevue HS - earned all state honors - In 12 games as a senior he allowed just two extra base hits in 52.1 innings and struck out 80 with a 1.20 ERA. Originally attended the University of Nebraska - played six games there in 2022 - transferred to South Mountain CC in 2023 - made 14 starts, going 7-2 with a 3.81 ERA…Pitched 75.2 innings, striking out 98 (11.66 K/9). In 2024 he transferred to the University of Houston where he was their opening day starter. Red shirted at Kentucky in 2025 - named Second Team All-SEC in 2026 at Kentucky. Was selected in the 14th round of the 2023 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers and again in the 2024 draft by the New York Mets (9th round).
MLB - “One of the biggest wild cards in the Draft, Jelkin got dismissed from Nebraska as a freshman in 2022 and teams are still wary of his makeup. He spent 2023 at South Mountain (Ariz.) CC before blowing out his elbow at Houston the following spring, requiring Tommy John surgery that sidelined him for all of last season at Kentucky. He turned down the Dodgers as a 14th-rounder in 2023 and the Mets as a ninth-rounder in '24. Though he'll be 23 years and seven months old on Draft Day, he also has top two rounds stuff and earned second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors as a redshirt senior. Jelkin operates with three solid pitches with high spin rates, the best of which is a low-80s curveball with quality depth. His fastball has sat at 93-96 mph and reached 98 with power sink this spring, and it touched 100 during fall practice. His upper-80s cutter features late break that keeps it off barrels. Jelkin also shows some aptitude for a mid-80s changeup with fade and sink. A lanky 6-foot-5, 195-pounder with room to add more strength, he slings his pitches from a low three-quarters slot that adds deception. While he provides consistent strikes, he does catch the heart of the plate too often and will need to upgrade his command.”
