International League ( AAA ) - Buffalo 1 (5-13,42-50) Lehigh Valley 0 (12-6,46-45)

Summary :


Damian Palmegiani homered for Buffalo in the seventh inning.


At Bat :  0 R, 7 H, 2 BB, 12 K’s


Carlos De La Cruz had three hits (two singles & double) as did Scott Kingery (single & triple).  Cal Stevenson walked twice.


On The Hill : 1 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 8 K’s


Kolby Allard was outstanding - he was perfect thru five innings - in total he went 6.1 innings - 1 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 5 K’s - 92 pitches - 59 strikes.  Andrew Bellatti retired the only two batters he faced on fly outs - 5 pitches - 4 strikes.  Max Lazar pitched two perfect innings - 3 K’s - 23 pitches - 17 strikes.

Summary :


Robert Moore singled in the first inning and scored on a home run by Otto Kemp.


Robert Moore hit a two run home run in the fifth inning scoring Trevor Schwecke (singled) in front of him.


Akron scored five runs in the seventh inning on a single, two doubles, strikeout/wild pitch, another wild pitch and two run home run (Kody Huff).


Baron Radcliff homered in the bottom of the seventh inning.


Aaron Bracho homered for Akron in the ninth inning.


Josh Breaux doubled in the bottom of the ninth, Kendall Simmons pinch ran for him.  Baron Radcliff doubled to score him.

Trevor Schwecke singled & Ethan Wilson singled to score Radcliff with the game winning walk off run!


On The Hill :  6 R, 9 H, 4 BB, 11 K’s


Matt Osterberg was very good - 6 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 3 BB, 5 K’s - 98 pitches - 60 strikes.  Efrain Contreras went 1/3 of an inning - 4 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 18 pitches - 12 strikes.  Carlos Francisco pitched 2/3 of an inning - 1 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 21 pitches - 12 strikes - one inherited runner scored.  Konnor Ash pitched a perfect inning - 2 K’s - 13 pitches - 9 strikes.  Daniel Harper pitched an inning - 1 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 20 pitches - 17 strikes.

Lachlan Wells continued his recent hot stretch with his best outing of the season last night. The southpaw went seven innings, allowing just three hits, and striking out three in Saturday’s win over Akron. It marked the third win in four starts for Wells and also the seventh-straight he went five innings or more. Wells also has gone six innings or more in seven of his last nine starts. So far in July, wells is 2-0, with a 2.00 ERA, while striking out 13 hitters over 18 innings. Wells currently ranks second amongst qualifiers in the Eastern League with a 1.06 WHIP.  Wells also ranks second in the Eastern League with a 6.60 strikeout-to-walk ratio,

trailing only teammate Robinson Pina. Wells’ outing marked the fourth time a Reading starter has gone seven innings this season, which Reading is 4-0. - Media Notes

Summary :


Roc Riggio homered for HV in the first inning.


Simon Muzziotti tripled in the 4th inning to score William Bergolla (reached on a force-out).  A wild pitch allowed Muzziotti to score.


Jordan Dissin walked in the fifth inning, he scored on a triple by Zach Arnold.  Troy Schreffler walked. A wild pitch scored Arnold.  Schreffler stole second base and scored on a single by William Bergolla.


A double, walk, fielding error and sacrifice fly scored a run for HV in the sixth inning.


A two base fielding error and single scored a HV run in the 8th inning.


On The Hill : 3 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 10 K’s


George Klassen pitched four innings - 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 5 K’s - 51 pitches - 35 strikes.  Braeden Fausnaught pitched 1.2 innings - 1 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 24 pitches - 16 strikes.  Trey Dillard pitched 1.1 innings - 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 20 pitches - 11 strikes.  Jack Dallas pitched an inning - 1 unearned R, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 21 pitches - 15 strikes.  Andrew Walling closed it with a perfect inning - 14 pitches - 9 strikes.

Simon Muzziotti and Zach Arnold each tripled.

The BlueClaws have won have won six of their last seven games and are 8-2 since they dropped the first two games at Wilmington on July 1-2.  The win today puts the BlueClaws over .500 in the second half for the first time since they were 2-0. Summary :


Palm Beach scored twice in the second inning on a single, hit batter and double.  They scored two more in the third inning on a walk and three singles.  A walk, single and balk scored a run in the fourth and a double, balk and wild pitch scored one in the fifth.  A double and two singles scored two runs for them in the 6th inning.

Micah Ottenbreit pitched three innings - 4 R - 3 earned, 6 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s - 64 pitches - 38 strikes.  Chase Hopewell pitched an inning - 1 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 20 pitches - 12 strikes.  Luke Russo went 1.2 innings - 3 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 39 pitches - 22 strikes.  Luis Avila pitched 1.1 innings - 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 27 pitches - 18 strikes - 2 of 2 inherited runners scored.  Ethan Chenault pitched a scoreless inning - 0 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 13 pitches - 8 strikes.

TJayy Walton had the only Threshers hit - a single.


Other Notes :


The Marlins and Cardinals share Roger Dean Stadium - for Sunday games they don’t open it to the public - games like today are played with no fans in attendance.

Last night Braydon Tucker tied his career high with 6.0 innings pitched and six strikeouts. He turned in the longest no-hit outing by a Threshers pitcher this season. Bryson Ware became the fourth Thresher this season to steal ten bases. The four full-season teams are now off till Friday for the All-Star break.  The FCL and DSL teams will continue to play, I’ll provide coverage of those games in a mini-break of sorts for me 🤓.
