SS Logan Dawson - 19 yrs old - Eastern High School (NJ)

“Dawson is a lean lefthanded-hitting shortstop with a projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds and impressive instincts on both sides of the ball. He has a smooth, workable swing with a slight uppercut path and pairs the swing with advanced swing decisions. He knows a ball from a strike and has the patience that should lead to strong on-base numbers at the next level. Dawson does have some swing-and-miss tendencies, particularly against elevated fastballs. He will need to add more strength to become a more consistent home run threat, but it’s easy to see him adding good mass to his frame in a few years. Dawson is a fringy runner who has steady shortstop actions and above-average arm strength. He has soft hands, good balance and can throw from different arm slots while getting the ball in and out of his glove quickly. Dawson is on the older side for the class and will be 19 on draft day, which will make him a draft-eligible sophomore in 2027 if he makes it to campus at Boston College.”
