RHP Brian Walters - 22 yrs old - University of Miami

“The younger brother of Guardians reliever Andrew Walters, Brian also is best suited for the bullpen, though he did get a chance to start at Miami this spring. After transferring from Eastern Florida State College, he redshirted in his first season at Miami following Tommy John surgery. He returned last year and was a 19th-round pick of the Mariners but returned to the Hurricanes for the 2025 season, showing off a sinking fastball up to 97 mph and a low-80s slider.” - MLB

“Walters ranked as a BA 500 player in the 2024 class and was drafted by the Mariners in the 19th round but didn’t sign. In his third season for Miami in 2025, Walters began pitching as a starter at times, pitching to a 4.94 ERA with a 23.7% strikeout rate and an 8.1% walk rate. Listed at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, Walters’ fastball averaged 94-95 mph this spring and touched 98 with plenty of armside run. He uses a low-80s slider as his primary swing-and-miss offering and will also flip in the occasional mid-80s changeup. While Walters is in the zone plenty, he’s more control over command. Unless the changeup takes a sizable step, he profiles as a likely reliever in pro ball.” - Baseball America
