Prospects Live : “Hill simply dominated the Cape Cod League over the summer. He posted a league-best 1.09 ERA among qualified pitchers, while striking out 45 over 33 innings. The physically imposing 6'6", 215 pounder sits in the low-90s, occasionally ramping it up to the mid 90s when needed. His fastball has inconsistent shape, but is effective when thrown well. The slider gets good whiff rates, especially when he buries it low to get hitters to chase. He rarely threw his changeup at school, but he increased its usage over the summer which led to great results. He has spotty command, which will need to be worked out if he wants to start long-term. Hill struggled at Georgia Tech in the spring against metal bats, so it will be interesting to see if he Cape success was a product of improvement as opposed to facing wood bats.”
