The Phillies scored twice in the fourth to take an early lead but the Cubs put up six runs in their fifth inning. The Phillies answered back with three in the sixth.
Eighteen year old RHP Giuseppe Vasquez tossed four scoreless innings as the starter allowing two hits and three walks while striking out six batters. It was his pro debut.
