Following the draft LHP Parker Scott & INF Freylin Minyety have signed as amateur free agents with the Phillies.
Scott pitched for Oklahoma State University, he’s 24 years old and is from Flower Mound, Texas. He went 8-1 this season with a 2.54 ERA in 60 1/3 IP ( 12 games - 10 starts ) and finished with a 2.60 ERA over four seasons in 138 2/3 IP with 152 K’s and 38 walks. He’s 6’1”, 174.
Minyeti attended Wabash Valley Junior College in Illinois. He’s 21 years old and was born in the Dominican Republic. He’s been playing for the West Virginia Black Bears in the MLB Draft League where he posted a .327 batting average and a .908 OPS with 11 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs and 19 RBIs in 107 AB’s. He’s 5’10” 185 and has played primarily shortstop.
