7/31/25 : July Standouts -Phillies Minor Leagues

The Phillies have historically issued “Player of the Month” awards in two categories - Hitter and Pitcher.  Below are nominations for the July awards 🤔🤓.

Hitter of the Month :

C Anderson Araujo - DSL Phillies Red - 17 years old - signed as free agent 1/15/25  from Barquisimeto, Venezuela - in 16 games posted a .373/.431/.814 slash line and 1.245 OPS in 65 Plate Appearances with 4 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, 15 RBIs, 5 walks, 4 stolen bases and 17 runs scored - 48 total bases.

OF Dante Nori - Clearwater - 20 years old - 2024 1st round draft selection - Northville HS, Northville, Michigan  - in 21 games posted a .324/.446/.541 slash line and .986 OPS in 93 Plate Appearances with 3 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs, 10 RBIs, 15 walks, 10 stolen bases and 17 runs scored - 40 total bases.

OF Avery Owusu-Asiedu - Jersey Shore - 22 years old - 2023 9th round draft selection - Southern Illinois-Edwardsville  University in 19 games posted a .313/.395/.448 slash line and .843 OPS in 77 Plate Appearances with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 7 RBIs, 8 walks, 9 stolen bases and 18 runs scored - 30 total bases.

C Paul McIntosh - Reading - 27 years old - acquired in trade with Marlins 12/22/24 - West Virginia University - in 14 games posted a .388/.464/.571 slash line and 1.035 OPS in 56 Plate Appearances with 6 doubles, 1 home run, 6 RBIs, 7 walks  and 5 runs scored - 28 total bases.

OF Justin Crawford - Lehigh Valley - 21 years old - 2022 1st round draft selection - Bishop Gorman HS, Las Vegas, NV - in 19 games posted a .290/.417/.362 slash line and .779 OPS in 85 Plate Appearances with 2 doubles, 1 home run, 14 walks, 7 stolen bases and 9 runs scored - 25 total bases.

1B Keaton Anthony - Lehigh Valley - 24 years old - signed as un-drafted free agent 7/18/23 - University of Iowa - in 19 games posted a .291/.356/.430 slash line and .786 OPS in 87 Plate Appearances with 5 doubles, 2 home runs, 7 walks, 8 RBIs  and 9 runs scored - 34 total bases.

UTL Bryson Ware - Jersey Shore - 24 years old - 2023 8th round draft selection - Auburn University -  in 13 games posted a .310/.400/.429 slash line and .829 OPS in 50 Plate Appearances with 2 doubles, 1 home run, 6 RBIs, 6 walks, 2 stolen bases and 7 runs scored - 18 total bases.

UTL Raider Tello - Clearwater - 24 years old - signed 7/23/24 as non-drafted free agent - University of Iowa -  in 15 games posted a .300/.352/.440 slash line and .792 OPS in 55 Plate Appearances with 4 doubles, 1 home run, 10 RBIs, 3 walks and 4 runs scored - 22 total bases.

C Santiago Prado - DSL Phillies Red - 18 years old - signed as free agent 1/15/24  from Barquisimeto, Venezuela - in 15 games posted a .302/.380/.372 slash line and .752 OPS in 51 Plate Appearances with 3 doubles, 5 walks, 3 stolen bases and 6 runs scored - 16 total bases.

C Rey Cruz - DSL Phillies White - 17 years old - signed as free agent 5/16/25  from Ciudad Habana, Cuba - in 11 games posted a .333/.455/.333 slash line and .788 OPS in 44 Plate Appearances with 4 walks  and 4 runs scored - 12 total bases.

Pitcher of the Month :

RH Gabriel Barbosa - Jersey Shore - 23 years old - selected in Rule 5 draft 12/11/24 - Bastos, Brazil - posted a 1.16 ERA in four starts (23.1 IP) with a 0.90 WHIP - 18 K’s and 6 walks - for the season has appeared in 20 games (8 starts) with a 2.84mERA (63.1 IP) with 51 K’s and 23 walks - 1.28 WHIP between Clearwater and Jersey Shore - was promoted on 6/27/25.

RH Alex McFarlane - Jersey Shore - 24 years old - 2022 4th round draft selection - University of Miami - posted a 2.12 ERA in four starts (17 IP) with a 0.94 WHIP - 23 K’s and 7 walks - for the season has started 17 games with a 5.14 ERA (63 IP) with 67 K’s and 35 walks - 1.40 WHIP.  He was part of a seven inning no-hitter on 7/2/25 throwing five frames.

RH Braydon Tucker  - Jersey Shore - 26  years old - signed as a free agent 7/19/23 - Lipscomb University - posted a 1.42 ERA in three appearances (19 IP) with a 0.79 WHIP - 15 K’s and 1 walk - for the season has appeared in 16 games (9 starts) with a 4.05 ERA (66.2 IP) with 52 K’s and 15 walks - 1.11 WHIP.

LH Mavis Graves - Jersey Shore - 21 years old - 2022 6th round draft selection - Eastside HS, Taylors, South Carolina - posted a 1.72 ERA in four starts (15.2 IP) with a 0.89 WHIP - 18 K’s and 4 walks - for the season has started 16 games with a 5.25 ERA (60 IP) with 76 K’s and 35 walks - 1.58 WHIP.

LH Andrew Walling - Reading - 25 years old - signed as non-drafted free agent 8/1/22 - Mississippi State - posted a 0.00 ERA in nine appearances (11.1 IP) with a 0.62 WHIP - 11 K’s and 2 walks - for the season has pitched in 27l games with a 3.77 ERA (31 IP) with 33 K’s and 14 walks - 1.19 WHIP.

RH Andrew Baker - Jersey Shore - 25 years old - 2021 11th round draft selection - Chipola JC, Florida  - posted a 2.61 ERA in 8 appearances (10.1 IP) with a 0.68 WHIP, 5 saves - 12 K’s and 2 walks - for the season has appeared in 27 games with a 5.77 ERA (34.1 IP) with 42 K’s and 12 walks - 1.43 WHIP between Reading and Jersey Shore.

RH Jean Cabrera - Reading - 23 years old - signed 7/2/19 - Maracay, Venezuela - posted a 3.04 ERA in four starts (23.2 IP) with a 1.06 WHIP - 26 K’s and 8 walks - for the season has started 19 games with a 3.61 ERA (102.1 IP) with 99 K’s and 47 walks - 1.20 WHIP.
