The FCL Phillies travelled to Lakeland to play Tigers West in a 10 AM game. With the pending tropical storm Elsa warning to be arriving here in the Clearwater area within the next couple of days today’s game may be the only action for a while.
Grenny Cumana made his 2021 debut playing left field and Colby Fitch on rehab assignment from Reading opened the game at Catcher. Cumana played four innings and Fitch caught the first five frames.
The Tigers scored twice in the first inning. Roberto Campos hit a solo home run and Iverson Leandro doubled and scored on a fielder’s choice. Leandro knocked in their third run of the game with a single in the fifth inning.
The Phillies staged a ninth inning rally … Marcus Lee Sang singled, advanced to third on walks to Arturo De Freitas & Carlos De La Cruz and scored on a walk to Chris Burke.
Alexeis Azuaje grounded out to score De Freitas. The next two hitters both struck out to end the rally.

Both 2B Alexeis Azuaje & DH Chris Burke had two hits and a walk with one RBI in four plate appearances. RF Marcus Lee Sang & 1B Arturo De Freitas each singled.
Notes :
3B Juan Herrera made his FCL and season debut batting second in the lineup, he went 0 for 2 before Guarner Dipre subbed in for the balance of the game.
