International League ( AAA ) -  Lehigh Valley 6 (5-6, 41-43) Scranton Wilkes Barre 1 (7-3,41-43)

Moosic, PA - PNC Field


Summary :


Jake Cave hit his 16th home run of the season in the first inning.


Scott Kingery hit a three run home run in the second inning.


Rafael Marchan hit a home run in the fourth inning.


Scott Kingery hit his second home run of the game in the seventh inning.


Jaimie Westbrook homered for SWB in the bottom of the seventh.


On the Hill :


Nick Nelson started and pitched five innings, no runs, two hits, one walk and four strikeouts.  Jeremy Walker went two innings, one run on one hit, one walk, two strikeouts.  Luis Ortiz pitched two innings, no hits, one hit batter, no walks, two strikeouts to close it out.


At the Bat :


Jake Cave (single, double, HR) and Rafael Marchan (two singles & HR) each had three hits, Scott Kingery homered twice (10 & 11) and had four RBIs.  Jim Haley hit two singles.

Eastern League ( AA) -  Reading 5 (5-6, 33-46) Somerset 4 (5-6, 47-32) - ten innings

Bridgewater, NJ - TD Bank Ballpark


Summary :


Somerset scored two runs in the third inning on a double, two walks, stolen base and ground out.


Johan Rojas doubled in the fourth inning, stole third base (his 30th of the year) and then scored on a wild pitch.


A double and single scored a fifth inning run for Somerset. Tyler Hardman homered for them in the sixth inning.


Max McDowell singled in the 8th inning, Nick Podkul walked. Johan Rojas doubled to score McDowell.  Jhailyn Ortiz singled to score two runs.


Somerset loaded the bases in the ninth with one out but a double play ground out ended the inning and sent the game into extra innings.


Johan Rojas tripled to scored placed runner Cody Roberts in the tenth.  Jhailyn Ortiz singled to score Rojas.


Somerset scored a run in the bottom of the 10th on two wild pitches.


On the Hill :


Tyler Phillips went six innings, four runs, six hits, three walks and four strikeouts. Dominic Pipkinpitched two scoreless inning, no hits, one hit batter, no walks, two strikeouts. Carlos Francisco pitched a scoreless frame. Braden Zarbnisky closed it out with an inning, he posted two strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Johan Rojas had three hits, a triple (5th of year) and two doubles bringing his season total to twenty, he also stole his thirtieth base and had two RBIs, a very talented player.  Ethan Wilsonhad three hits.  Max McDowell and Jhailyn Ortiz each had two hits.  Ortiz had three RBIs.

Coming into tonight’s action “Reading’s bullpen has been stellar this week. Through four games, they’ve allowed four-earned runs over 19.2 innings, which is good for a 1.83 ERA. The R-Phils added Phillies No. 21 Prospect Orion Kerkering to the bullpen and he struck out two in an inning Thursday night. Tyler McKay has pitched, and earned saves, in back-to-back games as well.”

Summary :


Hudson Valley scored three runs in the third inning on three singles and a double.


Wilfredo Flores doubled in the bottom of the third and scored on a single by Rixon Wingrove.


Gabriel Rincones Jr homered in the sixth inning.


Jared Carr doubled in the seventh inning, he scored on a Nick Ward single. Gabriel Rincones Jr doubled and Rixon Wingrove walked, Ward scored on a wild pitch.


Hudson Valley scored twice in the 8th inning on a walk, two singles and a wild pitch.


On the Hill :


Jordan Fowler went five innings, four runs, seven hits, one walk, four strikeouts.  Jason Ruffcorn pitched two scoreless innings.   Cam Wynne pitched a scoreless inning.


At the Bat :


Jared Carr had three hits (two doubles and a single), Rixon Wingrove had three singles.  Gabriel Rincones Jr had three hits, he singled, doubled and homered.  Wilfredo Flores doubled.



Did Ya Know?


Rixon Wingrove hit his 12th home run on Thursday and 13th of the season on Friday night.  He now had 25 home runs as a BlueClaw.   Wingrove has three multi-home run games already this season – April 19th at Aberdeen, May 6th at Hickory, and June 14th at Wilmington.  His home run on Thursday was his first since his two on June 14th. Summary :


Palm Beach scored two runs in the first inning on four singles.


Emaarion Boyd tripled in the bottom of the first and scored on a Bryan Rincon ground out.


Three singles scored a run for Palm Beach in the second inning.


Ricardo Rosario singled in the sixth inning, stole second and scored on a ground out and throwing error.


Joshua Baez homered for Palm Beach in the ninth inning.


Clearwater loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth, Ryan Leitch singled, Cole Moore doubled and Troy Schreffler walked.  Emaarion Boyd reached on a fielders choice, Ryan Leitch scored. Bryan Rincon was hit by a pitch to score a run. Ricardo Rosario singled to score the game winner for yet another walk off win!


On the Hill :


Jonathan Petit started and went three innings, three runs, seven hits, no walks, two strikeouts.  Danny Wilkinson pitched three scoreless frames - one hit, two walks, eight strikeouts.  Josh Bortka pitched a scoreless frame.  Andrew Walling went two innings, one run, one hit, one walk, three strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Ricardo Rosario had three hits. Cole Moore hit two doubles.  Chad Castillo doubled, Emaarion Boyd tripled.

Jonh Henriquez is the second minor leaguer to reach ten wins on the season.  TheThreshers recorded consecutive walkoffs for the first time since they won four straight on walkoffs against Lakeland in May.  It was the Threshers seventh walkoff win of the season. Last night Emaarion Boyd became the fifth different Thresher to record a hit streak of ten games or more with his leadoff single in the ninth. Summary :


The Cardinals scored twice in the first inning on two singles and a double.


The Phillies scored six first inning runs, Nolan Beltran singled to score one, a double steal scored another. Eduardo Tait and Victor Cardoza singled, Tait scored on a fielder’s choice. Erick Barria tripled to score three runs.


Two walks, an error and two singles scored two runs for the Cardinals in the second inning.


Nolan Beltran doubled to score a run in the bottom of the second, he scored on a double by Eduardo Tait. A wild pitch scored a third run.


A walk, hit batter and triple scored two Cardinals runs in the third.


Nolan Beltran singled to drive in a run in the bottom of the third, Eduardo Tait doubled to drive in two more.


Two walks and a single scored a Cardinals run in the fourth.


Manolfi Jimenez doubled in the sixth inning and scored on a triple by Victor Cardoza.


Erick Barria tripled to score two runs in the 8th inning, he scored on a single by Jose Leanez.


The Cardinals scored two runs in the top of the ninth on an error, single, wild pitch and sac fly.



On the Hill :


Five pitchers were used, Claudio Gatier went two and one thirds scoreless, one hit, two walks and three strikeouts. Juan Melendez retired all four batters he faced, two by strikeout. Naoel Mejia pitched two innings to finish it out.


At the Bat :


Nolan Beltran was 3 for 4 (two singles & a double) with a walk, three RBIs and two runs scored.  Sixteen year old Eduardo Tait went 3 for 5 (two doubles and a single) with three RBIs and two runs scored.  Victor Cardoza had two hits (single & triple), Erick Barria tripled twice, walked twice and scored two runs, he had five RBIs.  Manolfi Jimenez and Juan Villavicencio each doubled.



Phillies White 16 (18-6) NYY Bombers 1 (11-13) - seven innings

@ Yankees Training Complex


Summary :


Starlyn Caba singled, stole second and scored on a Jerffson Pena single in the first inning. Yemil Rosario doubled and Darium Gutierrez singled to score two runs.


Jerffson Pena tripled in the second inning and then stole home.


The Phillies scored six fourth inning runs, Jose Marchan and Darium Gutierrez had RBI singles, Kilwer Colmenares drove in two with a single. A passed ball scored a run and Jerffson Pena doubled to score another.


Five more Phillies runs scored in the fifth - Andres Taberas singled to drive in one, Kilwer Colmenares doubled to score two. A passed ball scored another and Leny Carela singled to score the fifth run of the frame.


Fernando Hernandez doubled to score a sixth inning run.


Gabriel Lara homered for the Yankees in sixth inning.


On the Hill :


Four pitchers limited the Yankees to just one hit, sixteen year old Angel Liranzo started and pitched three innings, no hits, two walks, two strikeouts.  John Sosa ( another lefty) pitched two scoreless/hitless allowing two walks while posting three strikeouts. Jendry Charles gave up the only hit and run of the game in one inning of work and Carlos Milan finished with a scoreless frame, no hits, one walk and two strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Darium Gutierrez was 4 for 5 (three singles & a double), scored twice and had three RBIs. Jerffson Peña was 3 for 5 (single, double & triple) with two RBIs, he scored three runs.  Leny Carela was 3 for 4 with an RBI and run scored. Jose Marchan and

Kilwer Colmenares each had two hits, Colmenares singled and doubled and posted four RBIs. Yemil Rosario and Fernando Hernandez each doubled.  The team had 19 hits and drew 8 walks. 😳




Futures All-Star Game in Seattle, WA


Mick Abel starter for the National League and pitched a scoreless inning, one hit, two strikeouts.


Justin Crawford had a sacrifice fly and RBI in three plate appearances
