The Phillies have historically issued “Minor League Player of the Month” awards for position players and pitchers. Below are considerations for the July awards 🤔🤓.
Pitchers :
RH Jaydenn Estanista - FCL Phillies - 5 games ( 2 starts ) - 14 IP - 0.64 ERA - 0.857 WHIP - the 20 year old from Willemstad, Curacao has electric stuff - ( 94 to 97 mph FB with late life ) and hard slider, he’s working to refine his curve ball and a change up. For the season he’s posted a 1.33 ERA in 9 games ( 20 1/3 IP ). He’s tall ( 6’3” ) and slender and has strong mechanics - eyes perk up on the backfields when he’s on the mound.
RH Andrew Painter - Jersey Shore - 0.46 ERA in 5 games ( 19 2/3 IP ) with a 0.81 WHIP - 25 K’s with just 2 walks - 19 years old from Calvary Christian High School , Fort Lauderdale, FL - 1st round draft selection - 2021 draft - 1.47 ERA in 61 1/3 IP and 0.93 WHIP for the season with 98 K’s and 22 BB - has been dominant in his appearances
RH Ben Brown - Jersey Shore - 1.57 ERA in 4 games ( 23 IP ) with a 0.61 WHIP - 35 K’s and a minuscule 2 BB - 22 years old from Ward Melville High School , East Setauket, NY - drafted in 33rd round of the 2017 draft - 105 K’s in 73 IP - 1.04 WHIP - can and has dominated games. Ben was promoted to Reading 7/31/22 - Ben was traded to the Chicago Cubs on 8/2/22 for RHP David Robertson
RH Maxwell Hernandez - DSL Phillies White - 1.00 ERA in 4 games ( 18 IP ) with an .889 WHIP - 19 years old from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
RH Danyony Pulido - DSL Phillies White - 1.40 ERA in 4 games ( 19 1/3 IP ) with a 0.931 WHIP - 19 years old from Caracas, Venezuela
RH Estibenzon Jimenez - FCL Phillies - 1.59 ERA in 11 1/3 IP - 16 K’s, 3 BB - 20 years old from San Felipe, Venezuela
