Phillies 10 ( 11-6 ) Blue Jays 7 ( 15-15 ) - Seven Inning Game
The Phillies Complex league team returned to action today ( first game since 7/27 due to Covid issues ) with a 10 AM game in Dunedin as the Blue Jays played host. Although I knew about the return last evening I chose not to spoil the surprise 🤓.
A great many roster rehab and other assignments before today’s game … OF Adam Haseley ( LHV ) was assigned to the roster, OF Corneluis Randolph ( LHV ) , IF CJ Chatham ( LHV ), OF Baron Radcliff ( CW ), OF Johan Rojas ( CW ), LHP Tyler Adams (CW ), OF Marcus Lee Sang ( CW ) , C Edgar Cabral ( LHV ) & C Nick Matera ( REA )
were assigned on rehab.
1B Jordan Viars ( 2021 3rd rd draft choice ), LHP Jared Wetherbee ( 2021 UDFA from Elon ) and Catcher Anthony Quirion ( 2021 UDFA from Lamar ) were activated on the roster.
The Game :
Baron Radcliff hit a two run home run in the first inning scoring Johan Rojas ( singled ) in front of him. The Blue Jays scored four in the bottom of the inning on three walks and two singles ( we see that a lot in backfield games … no worries - it’s a learning process 😎).
Johan Rojas belted a three run home run in the second inning. The Blue Jays scored a run in the bottom of the inning.
Jordan Viars singled in the third inning, he scored on a Jamari Baylor home run. Nick Matera followed with a home run going back to back with Baylor 💪.
Baron Radcliff hit his second home run of the game in the 4th inning. Jamari Baylor hit his second home run of the game in the 5th inning.
The Blue Jays scored a run in the fifth inning on two walks, a single and sac fly. They scored another run in the seventh on a triple and subsequent passed ball.
On the Hill :

RH Wilson Gherbaz - 1 IP, 1 R, 0 H, 2 BB, 0 K’s - 6 batters faced

At Bat : 11 hits, 7 walks, 2 strikeouts
Johan Rojas had three hits ( two singles & HR ), scored twice and drove in three runs. Baron Radcliff hit two home runs, walked and had three RBIs. Jamari Baylor hit two home runs ( 3 RBIs ) and walked. Nick Matera had two hits including a home run.
