8/2/23 : Minor League Roundup


International League ( AAA ) -  Buffalo 6 (18-10, 52-51) Lehigh Valley 3 (17-11, 53-48)

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :


Two singles and a sac fly scored a Buffalo run in the third inning.


Cal Stevenson singled in the third inning, stole second and scored on a single by Weston Wilson.


Buffalo scored a run in the 4th inning on a single, two walks and a ground out.   They added a run in the 7th on two walks and a throwing error.


Buffalo loaded the bases in the ninth inning on a single, walk and hit batter, Mason McCoy doubled to score three runs.


Scott Kingery singled in the ninth, Aramis Garcia hit a pinch hit double. Kody Clemens doubled to score two runs.


On the Hill :


Tyler Phillips pitched in and out of trouble throughout his four innings (AAA debut) - two runs, seven hits, four walks and two  strikeouts. Jeremy Walker pitched two scoreless innings. Ben Bowden tossed an inning, one unearned run on two walks and an error.  Braden Zarbnisky pitched a scoreless 8th inning.  Andrew Bellatti yielded three runs on two hits and a walk in the ninth inning.


At the Bat :


Aramis Garcia and Kody Clemens doubled.


Defensive Gems :


Drew Ellis made a couple nice plays in the first inning at third base to help his club get out of a no out bases loaded jam, first baseman Darick Hall made a great scoop of a high velocity throw in the dirt from Ellis to end the inning.


In the third inning left fielder Kody Clemens threw a runner out at the plate to end the inning.

Summary :


Madison Stokes doubled in the first inning and scored ahead of a home run by Oliver Dunn.


Madison Stokes walked in the third inning, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on a double by Oliver Dunn.


Madison Stokes singled in the 5th inning and scored on a double by Matt Kroon.  Oliver Dunn hit his second home run of the game to score two more. Jhailyn Ortiz went back to back to circle the bases and score one more.


Grant Lavigne hit a two run home run for Hartford in the bottom of the fifth.


Baron Radcliff homered in the sixth inning.


On the Hill :


Adam Leverett opened and pitched three innings, no runs, two hits, one walk and two strikeouts.  Cristian Hernandez went three innings, two runs, three hits, one walk, four strikeouts. Keylan Killgore pitched a perfect inning, one strikeout.  McKinley Moore went one third of an inning, one hit, two walks. Carlos Francisco stranded three inherited runners by rolling a 5-3 double play grounder. Francisco retired every batter he faced to close it out, one and two thirds innings .


At the Bat :


Oliver Dunn had a night, three hits (double & two home runs) with five RBIs 👀.  Madison Stokes had two hits (single & double) and scored three runs.  Jhailyn Ortiz had two knocks (single & HR), Baron Radcliff homered and both Matt Kroon and Herbert Iser doubled.


Defensive Gem :


Third baseman Matt Kroon made a leaping catch to end the fourth inning on a hard line drive.

Summary : 12 Noon Start


Brooklyn scored three runs in the fourth inning on a walk, single, double and single.


Two walks and a hit batter loaded the bases for Jersey Shore in the fifth inning, Erick Brito singled to score two runs.


Jacob Reimer hit a two run home run for Brooklyn in the 6th inning.


Gabriel Rincones Jr homered to left field in the ninth inning.


On the Hill :


Gunner Mayer went five innings, three runs, four hits, two walks, four strikeouts.  Rodolfo Sanchez pitched an inning, two runs, two hits.  Tristan Garnett pitched a scoreless inning, only one walk allowed.  Wesley Moore and Cam Wynne each pitched a perfect inning, one strikeout apiece.


At the Bat :


Erick Brito had two hits and two RBIs. Gabriel Rincones Jr homered.  The team had three hits total.

Summary :


Lakeland scored six runs in the first inning on two singles, two walks, a fielding error, wild pitch,  sac fly and home run (Manuel Sequera).


William Bergolla doubled in the bottom of the first, went to third on a single by Bryan Rincon and scored on a fielding error.


Ty Penner and William Bergolla singled in the second inning, Justin Crawford doubled to score two runs.


Mike Rothenberg doubled to score two runs for Lakeland in the 5th inning.  A single, stolen base and single scored a run for Lakeland in the sixth.


William Bergolla tripled in the seventh inning and scored on a single by Justin Crawford.


Ryan Leitch hit a two run home run in the 8th inning.


Two singles and two walks scored a run for Lakeland in the ninth.


On the Hill :


Rough go for starter Samuel Aldegheri who didn’t make it out of the first inning, 2/3 IP, six runs - five earned.  Braeden Fausnaught had a good outing, four and a third innings, two runs, two hits, one walk, eight strikeouts.  Eiberson Castellano pitched three innings, one run, four hits, one walk, six strikeouts.  Yoniel Ramirez yielded a run in the ninth inning on two hits and two walks.


At the Bat :


William Bergolla had three hits (single, double and triple), a walk and scored three runs.  Justin Crawford singled and doubled posting two RBIs.  Cole Moore doubled.  Ryan Leitch hit a two run home run.
