Congrats to RHP George Klassen (2023 6th round draft choice) for an outstanding effort on 8/18 for the Los Angeles Angels against the Houston Astros - he went seven scoreless innings allowing just one hit with three walks and seven strikeouts, post game remarks were that he was dominant. Since being recalled to the major leagues on 8/7 he’s posted a 1.59 ERA in three starts (17 IP) winning two games with 15 K’s and 8 walks. He’s featured a four seam fastball averaging 97 mph along with a slider and sinker.

Since being traded by the Giants to the Red Sox LHP Erick Miller (2019 4th round draft choice) has recorded a 0.00 ERA for Boston in seven appearances (7.1 IP) with 12 K’s and 3 walks - the high octane (upper nineties FB) reliever has excelled all season - in 45 games he’s posted a 2.25 ERA  in 40 IP with 57 K’s.

RHP Jacob Waguespack (originally signed by Phillies 6/22/15 as an un-drafted free agent) has recorded a 1.95 ERA in 21 appearances (27.2 IP) for the Detroit Tigers since his promotion to the big leagues on 6/12. Infielder Hao-Yu Lee  (originally signed by Phillies 6/15/21 as an international free agent) has a very solid .276/.319/.424 slash line in 227 PA’s for the Tigers with 11 doubles, 6 home runs and 30 RBIs - he’s played both second and third base for Detroit.

RHP Julian Garcia (2016 10th round draft choice) continues to pitch well for the Cincinnati Reds - since being promoted to the show on 6/22 he’s appeared in 21 games (27.2 IP) posting a 2.93 ERA with 28 K’s and 12 walks, a 0.98 WHIP and .163 BAA.

First baseman TJ Rumfield (2021 12th round draft choice) is having a strong rookie season for the Colorado Rockies with a .292/.372/.447 slash line in 497 plate appearances including 25 doubles, 13 home runs and 60 RBIs. Outfielder Mickey Moniak (2016 1st round draft choice) has 15 doubles, 20 home runs and 59 RBIs in 332 PA’s for the Rockies and is being strongly considered for a contract extension by Colorado - he and his wife love the area and have purchased a home there.

Outfielder Avery Owusu-Asiedu (2023 9th round draft choice) was promoted to AA level Amarillo by the Diamondbacks on 8/11 and has posted a crazy .486/.568/1.143 slash line and 1.711 OPS in nine games (44 PA’s) with 3 doubles, a triple, 6 home runs and 15 RBIs 😳. Avery had earned his promotion by going 8 for 24 (.333) with three home runs in his last seven games at High A. It’s been a struggle for him most of the season but he’s now ripping the cover off the ball!

RHP Ramon Marquez (Phillies international signing on 1/15/25) pitched six solid innings (2 R, 6 H, 0 BB, 4 K’s) for Eugene (SF Giants High A) picking up the win in his second start since being traded at the deadline for Luis Arraez. It was his longest outing of the season to date. RHP Marty Gair (2023 13th round draft choice) has made four appearances (4.1 IP) for Eugene with a 2.08 ERA - three of the four outings were scoreless efforts.

RHP Jaydenn Estanista (originally signed by the Phillies 11/8/19 as an international free agent) was promoted to AA Pensacola by the Miami Marlins on 7/30. After a rough couple of outings he’s pitched 7.1 scoreless innings in his last four appearances yielding five hits and two walks while striking out ten batters.

LHP Cole Irvin (2016 5th round draft choice) has been solid all year for the Los Angeles Dodgers AAA affiliate in Oklahoma City - in 22 starts he’s posted a 3.36 ERA (109.2 IP) and an 11-6 record - Cole also pitched in one game for the Dodgers going six innings for a short handed bullpen on 7/31 against the Red Sox.

Outfielder Leandro Pineda (originally signed by the Phillies 7/6/18 as an international free agent) was promoted to AAA Rochester by the Washington Nationals on 7/22 and has excelled - in 19 games (78 PA’s) he’s recorded a .313/.423/.719 slash line and a 1.142 OPS with 4 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs and 15 RBIs - the 24 year old has always had a classic left handed swing.

Outfielder Hendry Mendez was promoted to AAA St Paul by the Minnesota Twins on 5/5 - in 61 games (262 PA’s) he’s slashing .283/.379/.422 with 10 doubles, 7 home runs and 35 RBIs - Hendry missed time in June with a shoulder impingement.  Nineteen year old catcher Eduardo Tait (originally signed by the Phillies 1/15/23 as an international free agent) has hit 20 home runs and driven in 67 runs for High A Cedar Rapids, he’s also posted 22 doubles and has a .421 slugging percentage in 461 plate appearances.

Outfielder Marcus Lee Sang (2019 11th round draft choice) is hitting .301/.366/.474 with a .840 OPS in 363 PA’s for the Rangers AA affiliate Frisco - he’s posted 14 doubles, 13 home runs, 59 RBIs and has 13 stolen bases - one of my favorites - has made a great comeback after suffering a serious ankle fracture last season at Reading. Catcher Logan O’Hoppe was optioned to AAA level Round Rock by the Rangers after they acquired him from the Angels on 7/29 - in 16 games he’s hitting .292/.387/.523 with a .910 OPS in 76 PA’s with 9 doubles, 2 home runs and 16 RBIs.

Carlos De La Cruz has signed to play for the Mayos de Navajoa in the upcoming 2026-2027 Mexican Winter League season. Carlos (originally signed by the Phillies 8/23/17 as an un-drafted free agent) is second in the Atlantic League with 30 home runs and fourth in RBIs (96) for the Charleston Dirty Birds - he’s posted a .323 batting average in 391 plate appearances. Darick Hall (2016 14th round draft choice) is also excelling in the Atlantic League - in 82 games (367 PA’s) he’s hit 19 doubles, 15 home runs and has 81 RBIs with a .295/.351/.492 slash line for the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars. RHP Konnor Ash (originally signed by the Phillies 7/20/21 as an un-drafted free agent) is leading the American Association in ERA (2.64) for qualified pitchers - in 17 games (16 starts) he’s thrown 102.1 IP with 83 K’s and 33 walks - has a straight over the top delivery.
