Florida Complex League :
The Yankees bussed over the causeway to meet the Phillies in a noon ballgame at Carpenter Complex on Roberts Field. We watched from beyond the center field fence today alongside photographer Mark Wylie … will post his photos later after he’s had a chance to edit them.
Phillies 4 ( 18-10 ) Yankees 3 ( 26-13 ) - seven innings
The Phillies scored a run in the first inning on back to back doubles by Marcus Lee Sang & Jamari Baylor. They added another in the second as Junior Ortega singled, stole second, went to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch.
Two runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning on a Dalton Guthrie home run over the left field fence.
The Yankees scored a run in the sixth on a couple walks and groundouts. They added two in the seventh on an error, double, ground out and wild pitch. Jake McKenna came into the game and closed the door by striking out the only two batters he faced, one on an inherited count.
On the Hill :

Notes :
It was speculated in one of the Philly papers that first round pick Andrew Painter would make his pro debut today however that won’t occur till next week. The young right hander hasn’t pitched since May and the club wanted to give him another week of bullpen sessions before he appears in his first game.
Dominican Summer League :
Phillies Red 4 ( 18-14 ) Twins 2 ( 11-20 )
Julio Heureaux, Diego Gonzalez & Randy Vasquez each had two hits in the game, Heureaux doubled and Jhorjan Guevara singled and had two RBIs.
Manuel Urias pitched five shutout innings ( 3 H, 0 BB, 8 K’s ), Jared Loyo followed with two scoreless frames ( 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K ) and Jesus Querales finished going two innings.
Phillies White 12 ( 20-10 ) Tigers 4 ( 10-19 )
Jehisbert Sevilla led the 13 hit Phillies attack with three hits including a double. Erick Brito, Jackie Pertuz & Ricardo Rosario each had two knocks. Pertuz doubled, Deivi Cabrera tripled. Sevilla and Rosario each scored three runs and had two RBIs.
Jean Cabrera pitched five innings ( 1 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 1 HBP, 6 K’s ) … Fernando Ortega threw a scoreless frame ( 0 H, 2 BB, 1 K ) while Jonathan Rivas ( 2 1/3 IP, 3 R, 2 H, 2 BB ) and Edgar Zuniga ( 2/3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s ) finished it out.
