Spotlight Hitters of the week :
OF Gabriel Rincones Jr (Lehigh Valley) went 9 for 19 (.474) with four home runs, ten RBIs and ten runs scored for the week. He now has a career high 17 home runs on the season with 64 RBIs (also a career high) and 67 walks helping him to post a .359 OBP in 432 PA’s. Gabriel has stolen 15 bases as well. The Adonis built 6’3” 24 year old young man returned from the IL on 8/20 after suffering an ankle sprain. He was the club’s 3rd round draft selection in the 2022 draft and projects well as a left handed hitting power bat who can play either outfield corner.
OF Justin Crawford (Lehigh Valley) was 10 for 20 (.500) with two home runs, four RBIs, five runs scored and three stolen bases for the week. His .336 season batting average now leads the International League amongst qualified hitters. Justin (21 years old - 2022 1st round draft selection) has a six game hitting streak going and has posted a .369/.414/.553 slash line with 26 runs scored, 5 doubles, 4 home runs, 16 RBIs and 12 stolen bases for the month of August.
OF Dante Nori (Jersey Shore) went 11 for 24 (.458) with 4 BB, 11 SB and 5 runs scored, his OBP was .567 in 30 plate appearances. Dante now has 48 stolen bases on the season. He was promoted from Clearwater on 8/26/25. The 20 year old was the 2024 1st round draft pick from Northville HS in Northville, Michigan.
Spotlight Pitchers of the Week :
RHP Griff McGarry (Reading) pitched five innings (one run, three hits, two walks, six K’s) on Saturday in a 3-1 win. In the month of August he made six starts (27 IP) posting a 3.00 ERA with 44 K’s and 14 walks - opponents hit just .203 against him. For the season he’s posted a 3.65 ERA with Reading in 15 starts (61.2 IP) with 85 K’s and 39 walks, opponents are hitting just .183 against him.
RH Ryan Dromboski (Jersey Shore) pitched six scoreless innings (4 H, 2 BB, 6 K’s) on Sunday in a 6-0 win. Ryan was signed as an un-drafted free agent on 8/1/24 from the University of Pennsylvania. He was promoted to JS from Clearwater on 8/6/25 and has a combined 2.87 ERA and a 9-6 record in 21 games (75.1 IP) - a very good first pro season!
International League (AAA) : Lehigh Valley (31-25, 77-53)
The IronPigs went 4-1 visiting Omaha (Royals affiliate). Sunday’s game was rained out.
At Bat :
On Tuesday Justin Crawford had three hits (two singles and two run home run). Donovan Walton had three hits (two singles and HR) and Gabriel Rincones Jr had two hits (single & two run HR) and recorded four RBIs. On Wednesday Gabriel Rincones Jr had three hits (two singles & HR) with three RBIs. Rodolfo Castro had four hits (three singles & three run HR). Every batter in the lineup reached base during the game. On Thursday Gabriel Rincones Jr hit two home runs and Justin Crawford had two hits (single & HR) with a walk and stolen base. On Friday Justin Crawford had three hits (singles) and two stolen bases. Payton Henry had four hits (three singles and HR) with two RBIs and two runs scored. Donovan Walton had two hits (singles) on Saturday.
For the Series : Justin Crawford was 10 for 20 (.500) with two home runs, four RBIs, five runs scored and three stolen bases. Gabriel Rincones Jr went 9 for 19 (.474) with four home runs, ten RBIs and ten runs scored. Rodolfo Castro was 8 for 18 (.444) with 3 HR’s and 13 RBIs. Payton Henry was 4 for 9 (.444) and Donovan Walton 7 for 18 (.389).
On The Hill :
In a bullpen game on Wednesday RH Devin Sweet pitched two scoreless innings, RH Guillo Zuniga had two perfect frames and
RH Daniel Harper a perfect inning to finish the game. For the Series : RH Phil Bickford made two scoreless appearances (2 IP).
Eastern League (AA) : Reading (24-33, 49-75)
Reading was 2-4 hosting Chesapeake (Orioles affiliate).
At Bat :
On Tuesday Felix Reyes had two hits (single & double) and two RBIs. Aidan Miller stole his 50th base of the season. Felix Reyes had two hits (single & HR) on Wednesday. On Thursday Caleb Ricketts had two hits (single & double). Erick Brito had three hits (two singles & double) with two RBIs on Friday. Bryson Ware hit a two run home run on Saturday. Carson DeMartini had two hits (single & triple). Felix Reyes had two hits (singles) on Sunday.
For the Series : Felix Reyes was 7 for 22 (.318) with a home run and four RBIs. Caleb Ricketts went 5 for 17 (.294).
On The Hill :
RH Estibenzon Jimenez pitched six innings (two runs) on Tuesday. RH Braydon Tucker pitched five innings (one run) on Friday, LH Andrew Walling pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in relief. On Saturday RH Griff McGarry pitched five innings (one run, three hits) and was followed by RH Eiberson Castellano (one scoreless inning), RH Andrew Baker (1.2 scoreless frames) and LH Tristan Garnett (1.1 perfect IP - 3 K’s) in a 3-1 win.
For the Series : LH Tristan Garnett (2.1 IP) and RH Tommy McCollum (2.1 IP) each made two scoreless relief appearances.
South Atlantic League (High A) : Jersey Shore (33-26, 58-64)
The BlueClaws were 3-3 visiting Aberdeen (Orioles affiliate).
At Bat :
On Wednesday John Spikerman had two hits (single & double). Dante Nori stole four bases in his first two games as a BlueClaw putting him over 40 in total for the season. It marked the first time the Phillies Player Development System has had five players steal 40 or more bases in a season (Aidan Miller, Justin Crawford, Carson DeMartini, Dante Nori and Bryan Rincon). On Thursday Avery Owusu-Asiedu, Dante Nori and John Spikerman had two hits. On Friday Aroon Escobar had three hits (two singles & HR) and two RBIs. Raylin Heredia had three hits (two singles & HR) and posted three RBIs. Jose Colmenares hit a three run home run. On Saturday Dante Nori had four hits (three singles & double), stole four bases and scored twice. On Sunday Dante Nori had two hits (singles), a walk and stolen base (48th) and Aroon Escobar hit a two run home run.
For the Series : Dante Nori went 11 for 24 (.458) with 4 BB, 11 SB and 5 runs scored, his OBP was .567 in 30 plate appearances. Trent Farquhar was 5 for 13 (.385) with 2 doubles and 6 walks (.579 OBP in 21 PA’s). Raylin Heredia was 4 for 11 (.364) with 2 home runs. Aroon Escobar hit two home runs and drove in five runs.
On The Hill :
On Tuesday LH Kevin Warunek, RH Casey Steward and RH Jake Eddington each threw a scoreless inning in relief. RH Alex McFarlane pitched a scoreless inning out of the bullpen on Wednesday. On Thursday three relievers; RH Jose Peña Jr (1 IP), RH Titan Kennedy-Hayes (1 perfect IP) and LH Cristhian Tortosa (2 IP) pitched scoreless relief to close a win. RH Casey Steward pitched two scoreless innings in relief on Friday with five strikeouts. RH Ryan Dromboski threw six scoreless innings(4 H) on Sunday with three relievers pitching an inning each behind him for a 6-0 shutout win.
For the Series : RH Titan Kennedy-Hayes (2 IP), RH Casey Steward (3 IP), RH Saul Teran (2 IP), LH Cristhian Tortosa (3 IP) and LH Kevin Warunek (1.2 IP) each made two scoreless appearances.
Florida State League (Low A) : Clearwater (30-27, 66-57)
The Threshers went 1-5 visiting Daytona (Reds affiliate).
At Bat :
On Tuesday Manolfi Jimenez had two hits (singles) as did Will Vierling (doubles) and Jonathan Hogart (singles). On Wednesday Raider Tello and Luke Davis each had two hits (single & double), Jonathan Hogart also had two hits (singles). On Friday Jonathan Hogart had two hits (single & HR) with two RBIs. Guillermo Rosario hit a three run home run and Raider Tello hit a two run home run. Jonathan Hogart had three hits (two singles & double) on Sunday.
For the Series : Jonathan Hogart was 10 for 21 (.476) with 6 runs scored, he had a .577 OBP in 26 PA’s. Carter Mathison was 5 for 15 (.333) and Manolfi Jimenez 3 for 10 (.300).
On The Hill :
On Tuesday RH Adilson Peralta (three innings - one run) and RH Eli Trop (one scoreless inning) pitched well out of the bullpen. RH Danyony Pulido pitched two scoreless innings to close out the win on Friday. RH Gabe Craig and RH Keegan Batka made their pro debuts on Sunday with a scoreless inning each in relief.
For the Series : RH Luis Avila made two scoreless appearances in relief (3.1 IP). RH Adilson Peralta made three appearances (4.1 IP - 1 run) and LH Zuher Yousef pitched 4.1 innings (one run, three hits) on Sunday.
