Twins 7 ( 9-2 ) Pirates 3 ( 2-9 )

DH Nelson Cruz continues to mash for the Twins with three more hits, an RBI and a run scored. He’s got a five game hitting streak and has hits in nine of the eleven games he’s played ... including two three hit games, one four hit contest and a two hit game 🔥

Leadoff hitter Max Kepler reached base all four appearances with four walks and scored twice. Eddie Rosario had two hits and two RBIs.

Minnesota starter Jose Berrios went six frames ( 1 R, 4 H, 3 BB, 6 K’s ) ... Caleb Theilbar went 2 1/3 IP and Ex Phillie Trevor May picked up his first save by retiring both of the hitters he faced.

Phillip Evans and Erik Gonzalez each had three hits for the Pirates accounting for two thirds of the team’s hit total.

Indians 4 ( 6-6 ) Reds 2 ( 5-6 )

Shane Bieber continues to shine ... he went 7 2/3 innings allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight batters. He’s now 3-0 ... Brad Hand picked up his third save of the season with a perfect ninth inning.

The Reds starter Tyler Mahle was also outstanding ... he went six shutout innings allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out six ... retired the last ten batters he faced. The bullpen struggled behind him with four walks and poor command in the zone.

Franmil Reyes hit a two run home run over the center field wall in the eighth inning to provide the winning runs for Cleveland. Nick Castellanos and Eugenio Suarez each homered for the Reds.

Rays 5 ( 5-6 ) Red Sox 1 ( 3-8 )

Joey Wendle ( West Chester U & Avon Grove HS ) had three hits for Tampa including a triple while Austin Meadows had two hits and also tripled ... Brandon Lowe had two hits as well. Charlie Morton went 5 2/3 innings ( 1 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 5 K’s ) to pick up his first win of the year.

JD Martinez had two hits for Boston and Mitch Moreland homered.

Nationals 5 ( 4-4 ) Mets 3 ( 4-8 )

Three former Phillies led the Nationals offense ... Howie Kendrick had four hits including a home run and scored two runs. Josh Harrison also homered and had two RBIs ... Asdrubel Cabrera had two hits as did Starlin Castro.

Patrick Corbin went 5 2/3 innings ( 3 R, 8 H, 1 BB, 8 K’s ) to post the win ... four relievers finished it out.

Michael Conforto hit a two run home run and Andres Gimenez had two hits for the Mets.

Braves 10 ( 8-4 ) Blue Jays 1 ( 3-5 )

The Braves pounded out thirteen hits including two apiece by Ronald Acuna Jr, Dansby Swanson, Johan Camargo, Tyler Flowers and Ender Inciarte ... Flowers, Matt Adams and Austin Riley homered. Max Fried went six innings ( 1 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 3 K’s ) for his second win.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr had two hits for the Jays.

Marlins 4 ( 3-1 ) Orioles 0 ( 5-4 )

The revamped Marlins ( 17 different players from opening day ) didn’t miss a beat as they won for the third time in four games ... Pablo Lopez started and went five innings ( 2 H, 0 BB, 7 K’s ) for the win and four relievers finished the shutout.

Francisco Cervelli and Jesus Aguilar each homered for Miami while Jon Berti had two of their six hits.

Austin Hays had two of the three Baltimore hits.

White Sox 3 ( 7-4 ) Brewers 2 ( 3-5 )

Lucas Giolito went six innings ( 2 R, 4 H, 3 BB, 9 K’s ) for the White Sox to record his first 2020 win ... Aaron Bummer, Jimmy Cordero and Alex Colome ( 3rd save ) finished it out by going an inning each. Eloy Jimenez had three hits, two RBIs and scored a run. Luis Robert had two knocks.

Eric Sogard had two hits and Ben Gamel hit a two run home run for the Brewers. Brandon Woodruff pitched well going six innings ( 2 R, 8 H, 1 BB, 6 K’s ).

Cubs 5 ( 9-2 ) Royals 4 ( 3-9 )

Kyle Hendricks went seven strong innings ( 2 R, 7 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s ) and the bullpen held on albeit Craig Kimbrel continued to struggle ( 1/3 IP, 2 R, 2 H ). Willson Contreras, Jason Kipnis and Jason Heyward each homered for the Cubs.

Adalberto Mondesi had three hits including a double for KC and Salvador Perez had two knocks. The Royals used five pitchers ... rookie starter Brady Singer went five innings ( 4 R, 5 H, 2 BB, 8 K’s ).

Rockies 5 ( 8-2 ) Giants 2 ( 5-7 )

Rockies starter German Marquez went 7 1/3 innings yielding two runs on six hits, walking one and striking out nine batters. Yency Almonte pitched 1 2/3 innings of one hit baseball for the save. Nolan Arenado homered and Charlie Blackmon had two hits and two RBIs.

The Giants were held to one extra base hit ... a double by Steven Duggar.

A’s 5 ( 7-4 ) Rangers 1 ( 3-6 )

Oakland’s Stephen Piscotty hit a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning for the walk off win ... Matt Chapman had two hits including a home run ... five A’s hurlers held the Rangers to five hits with Liam Hendriks pitched a perfect ninth to earn the win.

Lance Lynn went 6 1/3 innings ( 1 R, 3 H, 3 BB, 7 K’s ) for the Rangers ... Todd Frazier and Isiah Kiner-Falefa had two hits apiece.

Dodgers 5 ( 8-4 ) Padres 2 ( 7-5 )

AJ Pollock homered and doubled for the Dodgers and drove in two runs ... Cody Bellinger had two hits and Max Muncy walked three times. Dustin May went six innings ( 2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 8 K’s ) for the win ... Pedro Baez, Blake Treinen and Kenley Jansen ( 3rd save ) tossed an inning each in relief.

Jake Cronenworth homered for the Padres.

Astros 8 ( 6-4 ) Diamondbacks 2 ( 3-8 )

Cristian Javier went six innings ( 1 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s ) to earn the win for the Astros and Carlos Correa had three hits ( including HR ) and two walks ... Jose Altuve also homered ... George Springer had three RBIs and Kyle Tucker contributed two hits.

Starter Madison Bumgarner struggled over 4 1/3 innings ( 8 R - 7 earned, 7 H, 2 BB ) for Arizona ... Andy Young and David Peralta had two hits apiece.

Angels 5 ( 4-7 ) Mariners 3 ( 4-8 )

Mike Trout ( Paternity leave ) returned to action and hit a second inning home run ... Albert Pujols hit a two run homer as did David Fletcher to account for the Angels runs ... five hurlers threw in the contest with starter Andrew Heaney picking up his first win ( 5 2/3 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 4 BB, 3 K’s ).

Austin Nola had two hits including a triple and two RBIs for the Mariners. Dylan Moore also had two knocks ( home run and a double).
