8/5/2020 : 2020 Phillies - Game Six


Yankees 3 Phillies 1 - 7 innings


Luke Voit crushed a solo home run for the Yankees in the second inning against Aaron Nola.


Neil Walker doubled with two outs in the bottom of the second inning ... he scored on a single to center field by Andrew Knapp.


Aaron Nola was excellent for the Phillies ... 6 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 12 K’s - 88 pitches - 57 strikes ... dominated 👏👊🏻


Tommy Hunter relieved him to start the seventh ... The Yankees went ahead in the top of the seventh against Tommy Hunter ... Giancarlo Stanton and Luke Voit singled and Mike Tauchman doubled to score Stanton. After Gary Sanchez was HBP Gio Urshela singled to score another run.


Hunter didn’t retire any of the five batters he faced ... four hits and a HBP.


Adam Morgan came into a bases loaded - no out jam and got out of it ... with a strikeout and 6-4-3 double play grounder that Didi Gregorius snagged ... made a really tough play look easy ... infield was up and he fielded a hard shot with ease ⚾️🤓.


New York used five pitchers for the win ... Chad Green stood out by retiring all seven batters he faced in 2 1/3 IP with two strikeouts ...


Record is now 2-4


Notes :


The Phillies were held to just three hits in the game and didn’t have a hit beyond the second inning.
