Andrew McCutchen delivered a pinch hit broken bat slow grounder to third base to score Neil Walker ( singled ) for the game’s first run in the bottom of the third inning. Walker had advanced to third on a walk by Andrew Knapp and a wild pitch.
Vince Velasquez went 4 plus innings ( faced one batter in the fifth ) for the Phillies ...
1 R, 3 H, 3 BB, 6 K’s - 76 pitches - 45 strikes - he battled ... pitched in and out of a second inning bases loaded jam ... a Velasquez type outing - once again battled command ... the run charged against him was given up by Deolis Guerra.
Ronald Acuna Jr hit a two run home run against Guerra in the top of the fifth to put the Braves up by one. Dansby Swanson singled ... the skipper then went to Adam Morgan . Freddie Freeman single to load the bases and Adam Duvall delivered a pinch hit bases clearing double to make it 5-1 Braves. After striking out the next hitter Morgan was pulled in favor of Ramon Rosso who recorded the last out of the inning.
Roman Quinn doubled to lead off the bottom of the fifth. He went to third on a groundout by Andrew Knapp and scored on a sac fly to center field by Andrew McCutchen.
Ramon Rosso tossed a scoreless sixth inning.
Cole Irvin pitched a scoreless seventh inning yielding two hits. The inning ended when Freddie Freeman was thrown out at third after a fly ball to center on the relay from Roman Quinn to Rhys Hoskins who pivoted and threw to Jean Segura for the tag out at third base. Rhys has played very well defensively this season.
The Braves used six pitchers with Mark Melancon closing it out in the last frame.

Notes :
Rhys Hoskins walked two more times giving him twelve for the season. The Phillies walked seven times in the game but managed just three hits.
Freddie Freeman had three hits for the Braves.
