9/10/2020 : Marlins 7 ( 20-19 ) Phillies 6 ( 21-19 )


The Phillies scored a run in the first inning as Rhys Hoskins singled, went to second on a balk by Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara, to third on a passed ball and scored on a groundout by JT Realmuto.


Jake Arrieta struggled with command in the bottom half of the first inning and the Marlins scored a run on an RBI double by Starling Marte. Arrieta needed 29 pitches to end the inning.


The Phillies scored twice in the top of the second inning. Alec Bohm singled to right center field and Marte misplayed the hard line drive into a two base error which allowed Andrew Knapp t( reached on an error ) to score. Bohm advanced to third base on the play and scored when Adam Haseley singled.


Miami scored a run in the bottom of the third on two singles and a sac fly.


Didi Gregorius doubled to lead off the fourth inning, he went to third on an infield single by Jean Segura. Alec Bohm brought Gregorius home with a single to left center field. Adam Haseley played some old school baseball with a safety squeeze bunt to score Segura from third base ... sweeet play 👊🏻👍


Miami scored a run in the bottom of the fourth on a couple hits and an RBI groundout by Jorge Alfaro.


JT Realmuto hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning.


Jake Arrieta battled his way thru 5 2/3 innings ... 3 R, 5 H, 4 BB, 3 K’s - 106 pitches - 60 strikes.


Jo Jo Romero struck out Corey Dickerson with runners on first and third for the final out of the sixth inning ... the young lefty continues to excel and impress !


Hector Neris tossed a scoreless seventh inning allowing just one walk.


The Phillies loaded the bases in the top of the eighth but could not score.


Tommy Hunter recorded two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning but also yielded two hits and a walk and left with the bases loaded. Starling Marte doubled against Brandon Workman to clear the bases and tie the game at six apiece.


Jorge Alfaro plated the game winner for Miami in the bottom of the ninth inning. Workman was tagged with a couple singles and a walk ... Alfaro singled to center field to score Monte Harrison for the game’s final run.


Notes


Alec Bohm is 12 for 25 when batting with runners in scoring position.
