9/13/23 : Minor League Roundup

International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 10 (39-26, 75-63)  Rochester 5 (29-34, 63-73)

Rochester, NY - Innovative Field


Summary :


Matt Kroon homered in the fourth inning. Aramis Garcia and Jim Haley walked. Drew Ellis singled to score Garcia. Brewer Hicklen doubled to score two runs.  Scott Kingery singled to score Hicklen.


Jake Noll homered for Rochester in the fourth inning.


Three singles and a double scored three runs in the fifth inning for Rochester.  Two singles and a sac fly scored a run for them in the sixth.


Dustin Peterson walked in the seventh, Darick Hall singled. Matt Kroon singled to score Peterson. Aramis Garcia hit a three run home run.  Two batters later Brewer Hicklen homered.


On the Hill :


Shaun Anderson pitched six and a third innings, five runs, nine hits, no walks, one strikeout.  Taylor Lehman pitched one and two third frames, no runs, no hits, one walk.  Luis Ortiz finished it, two innings, no runs, one hit, one walk, three strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Matt Kroon had three hits (two singles and home run).  Brewer Hicklen (two doubles and home run) also had three hits. Scott Kingery had two hits.  Aramis Garcia homered.  Kingery stole two bases (24 on the season) and Weston Wilson stole his 29th base of the year. Garcia and Hicklen each had three RBIs.

Eastern League ( AA) -  Reading 3 (30-34, 58-74) Binghamton 1 (36-26, 71-60)

Summary :


Binghamton scored a run in the third inning on an infield single, a throwing error (catcher Max McDowell) on a stolen base which allowed the runner to advance to third base and a second infield single.


Oliver Dunn doubled in the sixth inning and scored on a double by Jhailyn Ortiz.  Rixon Wingrove hit his first home run at the AA level to plate two runs.


On the Hill :


Mick Abel finished his AA level season with a good outing, five innings, one run, three hits, three walks, eight strikeouts.  He used his curve ball very effectively tonight, multiple swings and misses.  Cristian Hernandez pitched two scoreless innings, one hit, one walk, four strikeouts.  Orion Kerkering closed it out, two innings, no runs, two hits, no walks, five strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Rixon Wingrove had two hits (single and home run) and two RBIs.  Marcus Lee Sang, Oliver Dunn and Jhailyn Ortiz each doubled.
