9/16/23 : Minor League Roundup

International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 6 (42-26, 78-63)  Rochester 5 (29-37, 63-76) - ten innings

Rochester, NY - Innovative Field


Summary :


Jim Haley tripled in the second inning and scored on a single by Drew Ellis.


Brewer Hicklen homered  in the sixth inning.


Brady Lindsly hit a two run home run for Rochester in the eighth inning.


Darick Hall walked in the ninth inning and scored on a home run by Drew Ellis.  Four consecutive walks scored another run.


Rochester scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth on a single, walk, single and two run triple by Frankie Tostado.


The game went into extra innings tied at five apiece.


Cal Stevenson put down a pinch hit sacrifice bunt in the top of the tenth to move placed runner Rafael Marchan to third base.  Darick Hall singled to score him.


On the Hill :


Drew Hutchinson pitched seven and one third innings, two runs, five hits, two walks, five strikeouts.  Louis Ortiz pitched one and two third innings, three runs, three hits, one walk, two strikeouts. Andrew Bellatti pitched a scoreless tenth inning, one walk,  to close it out.


At the Bat :


Drew Ellis had three hits (two singles and a home run) and three RBIs. Weston Wilson and Matt Kroon each had two hits.  Jim Haley tripled, Brewer Hicklen homered.

Summary :


Binghamton scored a run in the first inning on a single, fielding error, stolen base and sac fly.  They scored a run in the second inning on a hit batter, walk and double.   A walk, single,  fielding error, wild pitch and ground out scored two runs for them in the sixth inning.


Binghamton added two runs in the seventh inning on four walks and a wild pitch.


On the Hill :


Adam Leverett pitched three and two third innings, two runs - one earned, two hits, one hit batter, two walks, three strikeouts.  Carlos Francisco pitched one and two third innings, two runs, two hits, one hit batter, one walk, two strikeouts.  Andrew Baker went an inning and a third, two runs, one hit, four walks, three strikeouts.  Rodolfo Sanchez pitched one and a third innings in his Reading debut, no runs, one hit, two walks, one strikeout.


At the Bat :


The team was held to two hits.
