9/18/22 : Week Twenty-Four Minor League Review ( 9/13 to 9/18 )

Pitcher of the Week :

LH Michael Plassmeyer - 5 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 4 BB, 6 K’s - 91 pitches - 52 strikes - was named the International League Pitcher of the Month in August.  The 25 year old was acquired from the San Francisco Giants in a trade for Catcher Austin Wynns on 6/8/22.   Since then he’s been the Iron Pigs most reliable starter - has pitched 15 games and posted a 2.49 ERA in 76 1/3 IP with a 1.07 WHIP.  Not a high velo guy but has shown this season he certainly knows how to get batters out - made his major league debut with the Phillies on August 23rd and threw 1 1/3 innings retiring all four batters he faced against the Reds.  Remains on the 40 man roster.
