International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 10 (37-23, 73-60)  Buffalo 2 (34-24, 68-65)

Buffalo, NY - Sahlen Field


Summary :


Simon Muzziotti and Dustin Peterson walked in the first inning, Darick Hall singled.  Rafael Marchan hit a grand slam home run.  Jim Haley went back to back to make it five zip.


Buffalo scored a run in the bottom of the first on a single, double and sac fly.


In the second inning Brewer Hicklen and Darick Hall walked, Dustin Peterson singled, Hicklen scored.  Rafael Marchan doubled on a line drive down the left field line to score two runs, Jim Haley singled to score another.


Brewer Hicklen walked and stole second in the fifth inning, he scored on a double by Simon Muzziotti.


Buffalo scored a run in the ninth on a walk, single and sac fly.


On the Hill :


Shaun Anderson pitched seven innings, one run, six hits, no walks, seven strikeouts. Brett Schulze pitched an inning, no runs or hits, three walks, one strikeout. Connor Brogdon pitched an inning, one run, one hit, one walk.


At the Bat :


Jim Haley had three hits (two singles & HR), Rafael Marchan doubled and hit a grand slam, he posted six RBIs.  Darick Hall had two hits.  Simon Muzziotti doubled.

The game was eventually suspended, it will be completed tomorrow beginning at 5:05 PM.

Summary :


Justin Crawford walked in the first inning and Gabriel Rincones Jr was hit by a pitch.  Caleb Ricketts singled to score Crawford.


The game went into rain delay in the top of the second inning. 


Erick Brito singled in the second inning, stole second and scored on a double by Justin Crawford.  Bryan Rincon doubled to score Crawford.


Justin Crawford was hit by a pitch in the seventh, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sac fly by Bryan Rincon.


Caleb Ricketts singled in the eighth inning as did Otto Kemp.  Jared Carr reached on a fielding error which scored Ricketts. Kemp scored on a groundout by Erick Brito.  Hudson Valley brought in an infielder to pitch with two outs in the eighth inning, he also pitched the ninth.


Christopher Familia homered for Hudson Valley in the ninth inning.


On the Hill :


Gunner Mayer started and pitched an inning, no runs or hits, one walk, two strikeouts, he didn’t return after the lengthy rain delay.  Cam Wynne pitched well in relief, three innings, no runs, three hits, one walk, two strikeouts. Carlos Betancourt was very good, three scoreless innings, two hits, one walk, four strikeouts. Jason Ruffcorn finished it, two innings, one run, three hits, no walks, three strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Erick Brito had three hits (two singles & triple). Caleb Ricketts, Felix Reyes and Bryan Rincon had two hits. Justin Crawford and Rincon doubled.  Crawford was on base three times as he also walked and was hit by a pitch, he also stole his 45th base of the season (40 with Clearwater), he scored three runs.


Web Gem :


Third baseman Otto Kemp made an outstanding diving stop on a hard hit grounder down the line in the seventh inning, popped up and recorded the out!

William Bergolla walked in the first inning, Chad Castillo and Bryson Ware singled.  Raylin Heredia singled to score two runs.


Jordan Viars singled in the second inning, Trent Farquhar doubled to score him. Troy Schreffler reached on a fielding error, William Bergolla singled to score a run.  Chad Castillo hit a sac fly to score a run.


Palm Beach scored a run in the third inning on a double, stolen base and wild pitch.   They scored four runs in the fourth inning on a hit batter, four walks and a single.


Raylin Heredia doubled in the fifth inning, Jared Thomas and Trent Farquhar walked.  Troy Schreffler and William Bergolla each singled to score runs.


Zach Arnold and Jared Thomas singled in the sixth inning, Trent Farquhar reached on a fielding error, Arnold scored.  Thomas later scored on a throwing error.


In the top of the ninth Trent Farquhar doubled, Troy Schreffler walked and Chad Castillo singled to score Farquhar. Bryson Ware hit a sac fly to score a run.


On the Hill :


Hunter Loyd opened and pitched two innings, no runs, two hits, one walk, two strikeouts.  Erich Uelmen pitched an inning, one run, one hit, one strikeout.  Trey Dillard pitched two thirds of an inning, three runs, no hits, one hit batter, two walks.  Daniel Harper pitched an inning and a third, one run, two hits, two walks.  Hans Crouse pitched a perfect inning, one strikeout.  Nate Karaffa finished by pitching three innings, no runs, three hits, one walk, one hit batter, four strikeouts.


At the Bat :
