Two contests against the Yankees - completion of a suspended game from 7/29 and regularly scheduled game. Suspended game began at 11 AM.
Yankees 9 Phillies 8 - seven innings - completion of suspended game - 7 innings
The game was picked up in the bottom of the third inning with the Yankees ( home team in this one as was originally started in Tampa on 7/29 ) leading 3-2 and two runners on base.
The Yankees plated three runs in the third, two of them in the resumption of play today on a single and sac fly. They scored two more in the fourth on a home run by Angel Rojas.
Jordan Viars lined a single down the right field line to score a run for the Phillies in the fifth, Viars stole second base and scored on a single to left field by Matt Goodheart.
Wilson Valdez tripled to lead off the sixth inning, he scored on a fielding error. Jordan Viars later in the inning brought in another run with a sac fly. Marcus Lee Sang doubled to score a run in the seventh inning.
The Yankees won the game with a three run walk off home run by Jose Martinez in the bottom of the seventh that hit the top of the left field fence and skipped over.
RHP Fernando Lozano made a rehab appearance and pitched a perfect inning striking out two batters. RH Leonel Aponte threw an inning, LH Jordan Fowler went 2 frames ( 2 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s ) and LH Tristan Garnett went 1/3 of an inning and yielded the three runs that scored in the seventh inning.
Matt Goodheart ( UDFA from Arkansas ) had two hits today in the resumed play. Good looking short compact lefty stroke in the small sample size of two games we’ve seen him.
Phillies 9 ( 22-12 ) Yankees 3 ( 30-15 )
Andrew Painter pitched the first inning, unfortunately we had stepped away to get a samitch from Chick Fill A and missed him 🤦♂️ … he tossed a perfect frame - two groundouts and a strikeout … oh well, a fella’s gotta eat 🤓.
Hao Yu Lee doubled in a run in the second inning, Albert Jerez scored as well, he walked, stole second, went to third on a throwing error by the catcher and scored on a throwing error by the center fielder 😳 … that’s backfield baseball 🥴.
Logan Cerny singled in the third inning, stole second, went to third on a passed ball and then scored on a wild pitch.
The Yankees scored three runs in the top of the fourth on four hits.
Edgar Made walked in the fourth inning, went to second on a wild pitch, to third on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch.
RH Julian Garcia pitched two scoreless frames … his last appearance was 8/21 for Lehigh Valley. RH Micah Ottenbreit yielded three runs on four hits in an inning of work.
RH Ty Collins made his second appearance of the season, he tossed a scoreless frame ( 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K ). LH Riley Wilson ( 1st appearance since 5/27 with Jersey Shore ) pitched a perfect sixth inning ( 1 K ).
The Phillies scored five runs in the sixth inning … Alexis Azuaje & Jordan Viars singled, Edgar Made singled to score Azuaje. Viars scored on a fielding error. Made scored on a wild pitch. Albert Jerez hit a two run single scoring Hao Yu Lee ( reached on a error ) and Anthony Quirion ( walked ).
RH Hsin-Chieh Lin pitched a perfect seventh inning … two pop ups and a line out.
Marcus Lee Sang and Albert Jerez each had two RBIs in the game. The Phillies had seven hits in the game and walked six times, Hao Yu Lee’s double was the only extra back knock … Edgar Made singled and walked twice.

Solardo Rodriquez & Santiago Torres led the offense with two hits apiece. Rodriquez and Jhorjan Guevara each hit doubles.

Jehisbert Sevilla had three knocks and Deivi Cabrera had two hits and two RBIs.
Phillies Red 4 Nationals 0 - Tuesday 9/7
Diego Gonzalez had two hits including a triple and knocked in two runs. Jorge Mendez doubled. RHP Manuel Urias pitched five innings ( 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s ), RHP Hermès Astudillo 2 innings ( 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s ) and RHP Diego Linares two innings ( 0 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s ).
Phillies White 3 Brewers1 1 - Tuesday 9/7
Yoangel Ramos hit a two run home run. RHP Jean Cabrera upped his record to 3-1 by pitching five innings ( 1 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 9 K’s ) with RHP Luis Gomez pitching the final two innings in the seven inning game, Gomez earned his first save ( 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 4 K’s ).
