International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 6 ( 16-12 ) Syracuse 2 ( 9-18 )


Syracuse, NY - NBT Bank Stadium


Summary :


Nick Maton doubled to score Dalton Guthrie ( reached on fielders choice ) in the third inning.


Dalton Guthrie doubled in the fifth inning and then scored on a single by Drew Maggi.


Darick Hall was hit by a pitch in the 6th, went to second on a Jorge Bonifacio walk and scored on Will Toffey’s single. Austin Wynns singled to score both Bonifacio & Toffey.

Daniel Palka & Nick Meyer hit back to back home runs for Syracuse in the 7th inning.

Austin Wynns singled to score John Andreoli ( reached on an error ) in the 8th inning.


On The Hill :


LH Bailey Falter - 3 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 5 K’s - 40 pitches - 28 strikes

Austin Wynns had two hits and three RBIs. Nick Maton had two doubles. Dalton Guthrie doubled and scored twice.


Notes :


RF Jorge Bonifacio threw out a runner at the plate in the first inning tagging from 3B and attempting to score.


Mark Appel was perfect in three innings tonight


Eastern League ( AA ) - Reading 5 ( 9-16 ) Portland 3 ( 13-12 )

Summary :


Vito Friscia led off the game with a single, went to second on a bunt single by Ali Castillo and scored on a single by Aldrem Corredor. Josh Ockimey singled to score Castillo.


Portland answered in the bottom of the first with one runs on two hits and a walk. They scored twice more in the third inning on two walks, two hit batters and a single.


Reading scored two runs in the 4th inning - Jack Conley singled, Jonathan Guzman doubled and Vito Friscia walked to load the bases - walks to Ali Castillo and Jhailyn Ortiz plated runs.


Vito Friscia drew a bases loaded walk to score a run in the 5th inning.


On The Hill :

RH Tyler Carr - no outs recorded - 2 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 HB - 25 pitches - 15 strikes

Wilfredo Flores delivered a two run single in the second inning scoring Micah Yonamine ( reached on fielders choice ) and Alexeis Azuaje ( doubled ).

LH Jordi Martinez - 4 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 55 pitches - 41 strikes - FB - 90-95 mph, slider, changeup & sinker

RH Carlos Betancourt - 3 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 37 pitches - 25 strikes - 1st appearance in a full season game - FB 93-94 mph, slider & curve - we’ve always liked the 21 year old’s upside when we’ve seen him on the backfields - excellent debut.


RH Cam Wynne - 2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - struck out the side in the 9th - 25 pitches - 20 strikes. Reached 97 mph on his fastball 🔥


At Bat : 4 H, 4 BB, 12 K’s

Extended Spring Training :


The team played in Dunedin today against the Blue Jays, spectators aren’t allowed in at the Blue Jays complex.
