Game One : Lehigh Valley 9 Scranton Wilkes Barre 2


Summary :


Didi Gregorius reached on an error to begin the game - he advanced to second on a single by Austin Wynns and to third when Darick Hall grounded into a double play. Matt Vierling tripled to score Gregorius. Yairo Munoz singled to score Vierling after which Dustin Peterson singled. Rafael Marchan hit his first career minor league home run to score Munoz and Peterson ahead of him.


Darick Hall & Matt Vierling singled to begin the third inning, with one out Dustin Peterson walked to load the bases. With two outs Jorge Bonifacio drove the baseball over the left field fence for a grand slam home run !


Oliver Dunn hit a two run home run for SWB in the 5th inning.


On The Hill :

Darick Hall, Yairo Munoz, Dustin Peterson & Matt Vierling each had two hits. Hall singled twice to the left side of the field. Vierling tripled. Rafael Marchan & Jorge Bonifacio each homered - Marchan a three run shot and Bonifacio a grand slam.

Game Two : Scranton Wilkes Barre 2 Lehigh Valley 1


Summary :


Dustin Peterson doubled in the 4th inning and went to third on a single by Jorge Bonifacio. The two big fellas executed a double steal with Peterson scoring after the throw went to second base and he beat the throw back.


SWB scored twice in the bottom of the 6th inning on a double ( Phillip Evans ), a walk and then a two RBI single ( Jose Peraza ).


On The Hill :

Summary :


Kyle Datres doubled to score Michael Toglia ( singled ) in the second inning for Hartford. Datres later scored on an errant pickoff throw to first base attempting to get Isaac Collins ( walked ), Collins advanced and scored on a single by Hunter Stovall.


Hartford loaded the bases in the third inning on two walks and a single. Kyle Datres hit a grand slam home run to clear them.


Ali Castillo singled, Jhailyn Ortiz was hit by a pitch in the 4th inning. Logan O’Hoppe singled to score Castillo. Josh Ockimey homered over the right center field wall to score three runs.


Ezequiel Tovar hit a solo home run for Hartford in the bottom of the 4th. Willie McIver hit a homer in the fifth.


On The Hill :

Game One : Jersey Shore 2 Brooklyn 1


Summary :


Rowdey Jordan doubled to lead off the game for Brooklyn, he went to third on a fly out and scored on a fielders choice when third baseman DJ Stewart fielded a grounder and came home with Jordan beating the play.


Johan Rojas singled in the bottom of the first and proceeded to steal second base, he went to third on an infield single by Ethan Wilson. Wilson stole second base and on the throw down to second by the catcher Rojas stole home - don’t know how many times I’ve seen that this year in minor league ball but it’s a lot !


Casey Martin doubled in the fourth inning and scored on a single by Carlos De La Cruz.


On The Hill :

Game Two : Brooklyn 2 Jersey Shore 1

Summary :

Brooklyn scored in the second - Brandon McIlwain tripled and scored on a ground ball to third baseman Nicolas Torres when he beat Torres’s throw home.


The Cyclones scored in the 3rd inning on a walk, single by JT Schwartz and infield single by Brandon McIlwain.


Ethan Wilson doubled in the bottom of the 4th inning and scored on a double by Casey Martin.


Mick Abel was really good tonight - the runs scored against him were on softly hit ground balls - he threw a season high 93 pitches, had really strong command and was still bringing the heat at 98 mph in his last inning - he’s really fun to watch.


On The Hill :

Summary :


Damiano Palmegiani hit a three run home run for Dunedin in the 5th inning.


Dunedin scored an unearned run in the 7th inning - Jordan Fowler made a two base throwing error and a subsequent single scored the run.


Leandro Pineda doubled in the bottom of the seventh, Jamari Baylor reached on an error by the third baseman. Wilfredo Flores reached on a throwing error by the same fielder ( Francisco Fajardo ) on which both Pineda and Baylor scored.


The Threshers loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth, Erick Brito walked, Albert Jerez was hit by a pitch and Wilfredo Flores singled. Marcus Lee Sang hit into a fielders choice out on a grounder in which Brito scored. Kendall Simmons singled to score pinch runner Chris Burke ( ran for Jerez ) to tie the game. Anthony Quirion was hit by a pitch to re-load the bases. Micah Yonamine singled to score Lee Sang with the walk off winning run !
