Summary :
Raylin Heredia doubled to lead off the second inning - he advanced to third on a passed ball and scored when he beat the throw home on a ground ball hit by Brahian Silva.
The Phillies scored three runs in the third inning - Leny Carela singled and scored when Marco Soto reached on an error by the left fielder that allowed Soto to get to second base. Raylin Heredia doubled to score Soto. Brahian Silva singled to score Heredia.
The Pirates scored twice in the fourth inning on a walk, double ( John Zorrilla ), wild pitch - run scored and sac fly ( Roinny Aguiar ). They scored a run in the 6th on a home run by Tony Blanco Jr.
Marco Soto walked to lead off the 8th inning, he advanced on a single by Raylin Heredia. Brahian Silva hit into a force out with Soto being out at third base. Leonardo Rondon was intentionally walked to load the bases. A wild pitch scored Heredia, a second wild pitch scored Silva.
Hermes Astudillo ( all-star closer ) pitched the final two innings to seal the win !
The Phillies White team closed the regular season with ten consecutive wins - with their 4-0 record thus far in the playoffs they have won 14 straight games and are now 23-4 in the month of August 🔥.
They will now meet the Rockies in the best of three championship series - they defeated the Boston Blue squad 2-0 in their semifinal round.
