Summary :


Rochester scored a run in the second inning on a single, passed ball and RBI single by Jake Noll.


Daniel Robertson doubled in the 3rd inning and scored on a single by Dalton Guthrie.

The Iron Pigs loaded the bases in the sixth inning ( Dustin Peterson single, Jorge Bonifacio walk & Scott Kingery walk ). Daniel Robertson doubled to score them all. Ali Castillo singled to score Robertson.


On The Hill :

Daniel Robertson hit two doubles, had three RBIs and scored twice. Dalton Guthrie had two hits. Jorge Bonifacio doubled.


Notes :


Tonight was the final professional appearance for pitcher Aaron Barrett. He concluded his playing career with a 1-2-3 inning. Aaron will join the Phillies player development staff.


The Phillies signed RHP James Dykstra to a minor league contract. The 31 year old had been pitching for Guerreros de Oaxaca in the Mexican League where he had appeared in 17 games. Dykstra was drafted by the White Sox in the 6th round of the 2013 draft and has pitched in 129 minor league games ( 504 IP ) both as a starter and reliever in the White Sox, Rangers and Blue Jays organizations.

Eastern League ( AA ) - Richmond 15 ( 42-34,2-5 )- Reading 7 (33-43, 4-3 )


Richmond, VA - The Diamond


Summary :


Richmond scored three in the first inning with the key blow a two run home run by Sean Roby.


Reading scored twice in the second - Vito Friscia singled, Jhailyn Ortiz doubled sending him to third base. A ground out by Aldrem Corredor scored Friscia and a single by Ali Castillo scored Ortiz.


Richmond put up four runs in the second - two on a home run by Ricardo Genoves, another on a wild pitch and the fourth on a sacrifice fly. They plated five in the third on five hits, an error and a walk.


Jacob Heyward hit a three run home run for Richmond in the 4th inning.


Simon Muzziotti hit a sac fly to score a run in the 5th inning. Jhailyn Ortiz singled to score another ( Johan Rojas - singled ).


Reading loaded the bases for a second consecutive inning in the 6th on singles by Wendell Rijo, Jack Conley & Johan Rojas but could not score.


Jhailyn Ortiz homered in the seventh inning. Reading loaded the bases for the third straight inning after Ortiz homered on a single & two walks 😳. Johan Rojas & AJ Graffanino each walked to force in a run.


Reading loaded the bases on walks with one out in the 9th inning. A 4-6-3 double play ended the game.

Johan Rojas & Wendell Rijo each had three hits and a walk. Jhailyn Ortiz had three hits and a walk including a home run and a double. ( I texted him Sunday that I thought he was gonna go on a tear - the big fella is starting to heat up, can see it in his swings 🤓). Jonathan Guzman walked three times, Rojas & Rijo each walked twice.

South Atlantic League ( High A ) - Hudson Valley 8 ( 39-37, 5-5 ) Jersey Shore 0 ( 27-48, 2-7 )

Summary :


Hudson Valley scored a run in the second inning as they loaded the bases on a walk, single and hit batter - the run scored on a ground out which was followed by two strikeouts as Matt Russell pitched out of the jam.


Hudson Valley plated four in the second inning on two doubles, a triple, sacrifice fly, a couple of walks and a single.


Carlos Narvaez homered for HV in the 6th inning. They scored another on an RBI single by Trey Sweeney.


The Renegades scored a run in the ninth inning, loading the bases on walks and scoring on a single.

Summary :


Leandro Pineda & Marcus Lee Sang singled in the first inning, Kendall Simmons dropped a single into left field to score Pineda.


Dunedin scored two first inning runs in their half - they loaded the bases on a walk, single and hit batter. The two runs scored on ground outs.


The Blue Jays scored a run in the third, two batters reached on singles - Roque Salinas hit an RBI single to plate the run.


The game went into weather delay ( lightning & rain ) in the middle of the 7th inning. The delay was 1 hour and 22 minutes before it was called.

We were in attendance for this one, the Blue Jays stadium has the best hot dogs, Italian sausage and bratwurst 🤓. We left shortly after the game went into rain delay.

Yankees 10 ( 15-6 ) Phillies 1 ( 8-11 )


Yankees Complex - Tampa, FL


Summary :


Augustin Ramirez hit a three run home run for the Yankees in the first inning. They scored two more in the third inning, Jared Serna had an RBI triple.


Jordan Viars hit an RBI single in the 5th inning.


The Yankees scored a run in the 8th inning on three walks and a wild pitch. Dayro Perez cleared the bases with a double. Daury Arias singled to score Perez.


On The Hill :

Dominican Summer League :


Brewers1 5 ( 7-13 ) Phillies Red 3 ( 14-7 )


Summary :


The Brewers scored three runs in the 1st inning on an error, balk and wild pitch. Richard Rojas doubled in a run in the third inning for them. Luis Lara doubled in a run for them in the 9th inning.


With two outs Aroon Escobar walked in the 9th inning and went to third on a double by Kliubert Avila. Jerffson Pena walked to load the bases. A fielding error allowed Fernando Hernandez to reach base and Escobar to score. Jose Leanez doubled to score two runs. Hernandez was thrown out at the plate trying to score to end the game.
