International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 4 ( 34-25 ) vs Omaha 3 ( 28-29 )

Summary :


Drew Maggi doubled in the first inning and scored on a double by Darick Hall.


Vinnie Pasquantino homered for Omaha in the fourth inning.


Yairo Munoz hit a two run home run in the 5th inning scoring Ali Castillo ( singled ) in front of him.


Will Toffey homered in the sixth inning.


Vinnie Pasquantino doubled in the 7th inning and scored on a single by Freddy Fermin.


Omaha scored a run in the 9th inning on an RBI single by Freddy Fermin ( Nick Prato walked - advanced to third on a subsequent HBP and double play ground out ).


On The Hill :

The Phillies traded veteran RHP Michael Mariot to the Detroit Tigers for cash considerations. LHP Kent Emmanuel will eventually join the Iron Pigs rotation - he made his first rehab appearance this week with the Clearwater Threshers.

Summary :


Kevin Vicuna doubled in the fifth inning, went to third on a passed ball and scored on a sac fly by Chris Sharpe.


Liover Peguero hit a solo home run for Altoona in the sixth inning. Aaron Shackelford homered in the seventh inning and Andres Alvarez homered in the 8th frame. Shackelford tripled to score two more in the eighth.


Vito Friscia doubled in the 8th inning to score Chris Sharpe ( walked ).


On The Hill :

Summary :


Hudson Valley’s Anthony Seigler hit what appeared to be a foul ball out of the park in the fourth inning near the left field line but the home plate umpire called it a home run 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️.


Ben Brown was outstanding, he had a nasty hook and changeup working which he was using to offset his fast ball which sat consistently in the 94 to 97 mph range. The big fella dominated as he’s done for the last month, great to see and fun to watch ! Including tonight - in his last six starts : 29 1/3 IP, 17 H, 4 ER, 7 BBs, 47 Ks - a minuscule 1.22 ERA


Hudson Valley starter Josue Panacual was also excellent - 7 IP, 6 H, 0 BB, 9 K’s


The nine inning game was played in an incredible 1 hour and 53 minutes 😳


On The Hill :

Summary :


Marcus Lee Sang hit a two run home run in the first inning scoring Nicolas Torres ( walked ) in front of him.


Jean Cabrera was excellent - great pitch mix - kept hitters off balance and threw quality strikes.

Defensive Notes :


Catcher Arturo DeFreitas threw out another would be base stealer in tonight’s game, his pop times to second and strong, accurate arm are top notch.
