Florida Complex League

Phillies 2 ( 11-17 ) Tigers 0 ( 8-21 )

@ Carpenter Complex - Roberts Field

Summary :

A pitching and defense clinic today in a briskly played ( 2 hours, 8 minutes ) nine inning game.

The only runs were scored by the Phillies in the 6th inning -  Nikau Pouaka-Grego walked and went to second on a single by Felix Reyes.   A wild pitch moved them both up a base.  Jordan Viars hit a sacrifice fly to deep center field to score Pouaka-Grego and move Reyes to third base.  Rickardo Perez singled to score Reyes.

The Phillies used four pitchers in the game , RH Jaydenn Estanista was outstanding - he was consistently in the mid 90’s with his fastball with riding life and off set it with a mid seventies hook that just wasn’t fair - best we’ve seen him throw - afterwards I told him that it was an excellent outing as he went into the clubhouse.  I’ve said before to keep his name in mind, with outings like today that becomes more evident 👍.

On The Hill :

LH Samuel Aldegheri - 1 perfect IP - 1 ground out, two fly outs - 2nd rehab appearance - threw well

RH Cam Bedrosian - 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s

RH Jaydenn Estanista - 4 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 HB, 5 K’s

RH Estibenzon Jimenez - 3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - retired all 9 batters faced - FB touched 94

At Bat : 6 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s

Felix Reyes had two hits, Jackie Pertuz doubled.

Notes :

RHP Jose Pena Jr was hit by a line drive off the bat in yesterday’s game but fortunately he’s ok, we talked with him today and he was able to deflect it off his glove thereby avoiding a direct blow to his head.  After the break he will resume his normal routine and spot in the pitching lineup.

The complex will be closed till Wednesday - FCL play resumes on the 21st - the Phillies will visit the Jays in Dunedin.
