Summary :


The Iron Pigs scored five runs in the first inning - Johan Camargo hit a two run single and a three run home run by Will Toffey.

A single and three walks scored a run for Charlotte in the second inning.


Charlotte scored two runs in the sixth inning on three singles including one by former Phillie Adam Haseley.


Will Toffey & Dustin Peterson singled in the 7th, Justin Williams & Ali Castillo walked - a run scored. Chris Sharpe singled to score two runs.  Yairo Munoz singled to score another.


Charlotte scored four 8th inning runs on a walk, hit batter, two singles and double.


On The Hill :


LH Ricardo Sanchez - 5 2/3 IP, 3 R - 2 earned, 6 H, 3 BB, 3 K’s - 83 pitches - 54 strikes

Simon Muzziotti, Will Toffey, Yairo Munoz & Ali Castillo each had two hits.  Castillo doubled and Toffey homered.  Toffey had three RBIs - Johan Camargo & Chris Sharpe each had two RBIs.

Summary :


Harrisburg scored twice in the fourth inning on two singles and two errors ( fielding error by Johan Rojas & throwing error by Griff McGarry ).


On The Hill :

RH Andrew Schultz - 2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 29 pitches - 17 strikes - 96/97 mph FB & 86/87 mph slider - folks think he shows his pitches but his release is actually far enough behind his ear that it can’t be seen.


At Bat : 6 H, 1 BB, 11 K’s


McCarthy Tatum had three hits including a triple.


South Atlantic League ( High A ) - Jersey Shore 8 ( 40-67, 15-26 ) Greensboro 0 ( 46-59, 19-21 )

Summary :


Rixon Wingrove reached base on a two base error in the third inning,  he scored on a single by Uziel Viloria.


Two walks, a fielding error and a wild pitch scored a run for the Blue Claws in the 4th inning.


Uziel Viloria & Marcus Lee Sang singled in the 5th inning, Luis Garcia was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Ethan Wilson doubled to score two runs, Jared Carr singled to score another.  Casey Martin reached on a fielders choice to score the 4th run of the inning.  Another run scored on a Rixon Wingrove ground out.


Baron Radcliff homered in the 8th inning.

Summary :


Chase Estep hit a first inning home run for St Lucie.


Jamari Baylor walked, stole second and scored on a single by Hao Yu Lee in the bottom of the first inning.


Justin Guerrera hit a home run for St Lucie in the second inning.  A single, stolen base and two wild pitches scored a run for them in the 4th inning.


Raul Beracierta hit a two run home run for St Lucie in the 5th inning.


St Lucie scored a seventh inning run on two singles and an error.   They scored two runs in the 9th on an error, walk, double and single.


On The Hill :


RH Gunner Mayer - 4 IP, 3 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 8 K’s - 74 pitches - 45 strikes

Summary :


The Phillies scored four runs in the second inning - Cole Moore walked, Dakota Kotowski singled and Ty Penner singled to score Moore.  A wild pitch advanced the runners a base, Randy Vasquez singled to score two runs.  Justin Crawford singled to advance Vasquez to second - Rickardo Perez singled to score him.


The Tigers plated three runs in the bottom of the second on three walks, a ground out and wild pitch.


Dakota Kotowski doubled in the third inning, he scored on a double by Bryan Rincon.   Randy Vasquez singled to score Rincon.   Vasquez stole second, went to third on an error and scored on a groundout by Justin Crawford.


The Tigers scored twice in the fifth on two walks, a passed ball and a two RBI single by Randy De Los Santos.


Emaarion Boyd singled in the 6th, stole second - went to third on a throwing error and scored on a sac fly by Rickardo Perez.

Nikau Pouaka-Grego hit a two run home run in the 7th scoring Ty Penner ( walked ) in front of him.


The Tigers scored a run in the bottom of the 7th on an error ( Nikau Pouaka-Grego ) and a double.   They scored a run in the 8th on a single and RBI double by Daneurys De La Cruz.


On The Hill :

Four Phillies had two hits - Emaarion Boyd, Randy Vasquez, Rickardo Perez & Dakota Kotowski.  Kotowski & Bryan Rincon doubled, Nikau Pouaka-Grego homered ( 4th ).   Vasquez had three RBIs, Pouaka-Grego two.

Dominican Summer League :


Phillies White 3 ( 32-19 ) Phillies Red 2 ( 32-20 ) - scheduled for seven innings - went eight frames


Summary :


Santiago Torres doubled in the third inning for Team Red, he advanced to third on a fly out and scored on a sacrifice fly by Fernando Hernandez.


In the bottom of the 7th with runners on second and third and two outs Team Red intentionally walked William Bergolla to lead the bases, Nolan Beltran then drew a walk to force in a run and tie the score.


The game was scheduled for seven innings - it went into extra innings in a 1-1 tie.


Team Red scored in the top of the 8th as placed runner Jose Leanez moved to both third and scored on two wild pitches.


Team White plated two in the bottom of the 8th - Raylin Heredia singled to advanced placed runner Leanardo Rondon to third base.  Darium Gutierrez grounded out scoring Rondon and advancing Heredia to second.  Jarol Martinez singled to advance him to third base.  Erick Barria hit a sac fly to score Heredia for the walk off win !


It was a fun game to watch evolve, very competitive and the fellas were very animated in their enthusiasm and support of their pitchers - if all baseball games were played with such joy and passion there likely wouldn’t be many empty seats 🤓.  But hey our big league club is presently playing that way so if not already get on the bandwagon 😎.

  • Six (6) division winners and two (2) wild card teams (i.e., the teams with the best winning percentage who are not a division winners).

  • Eight (8) teams seeded according to winning percentage, regardless of whether the team is a division winner or wild card (1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, 4 vs. 5).

  • All rounds are best-of-three.

With 8 games remaining for Phillies White and 7 games remaining for Phillies Red both teams currently are positioned to make the playoffs.
