International League ( AAA ) - Norfolk 7 ( 60-67 ) Lehigh Valley 2 ( 69-59 )


Norfolk, VA - Harbor Park


Summary :


Dalton Guthrie singled in the third inning and scored on a double by Yairo Munoz.


Joseph Ortiz homered for Norfolk in the bottom of the third inning.


Scott Kingery tripled in the 5th inning and scored on a single by Ali Castillo.  The Iron Pigs had runners on second and third with one out - Darick Hall hit a seed line drive to third base that the fielder caught and turned into an un-assisted double play getting the runner at third base.


Ramon Rodriquez homered for Norfolk in the bottom of the 5th.


Brett Phillips singled for Norfolk in the 6th, moved to second on a ground out and scored on a single by Robert Neustrom.

Ramon Rodriquez singled to score a run in the 8th inning for Norfolk after a couple of walks had put two runners on.  After a walk loaded the bases Jordan Westburg tripled to score three runs.


On The Hill :

Dalton Guthrie was 3 for 3 with a run scored.  Yairo Munoz doubled and Scott Kingery tripled.  Rafael Marchan doubled.


Notes :


Dalton Guthrie left the game early in the bottom of the sixth inning


Eastern League ( AA ) - Reading 3 ( 55-70, 26-30 ) Hartford 1 ( 71-53, 28-27 )


Hartford, CT - Dunkin Donuts Park


Summary :


Hartford scored a first inning run - Hunter Stovall doubled down the right field line and crossed the plate on a single by Kyle Datres.


Reading scored a run in the top of the seventh - Aldrem Corredor singled, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on a double by Herbert Iser.


Wendell Rijo walked in the 9th inning, Jhailyn Ortiz singled.  Ethan Wilson put down a sacrifice bunt to move them up, Aldrem Corredor singled to plate two runs.


On The Hill :


RH Andrew Painter - 7 IP, 1 R, 8 H, 0 BB, 9 K’s - 92 pitches - 69 strikes

RH Matt Seelinger - 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 15 pitches - 10 strikes

RH Billy Sullivan - 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 26 pitches - 14 strikes - 96 to 98 mph FB 🔥

Herbert Iser had two hits including a RBI double.  Aldrem Corredor had two hits, two RBIs and scored a run. McCarthy Tatum had two hits.


Notes :


Andrew Painter used what appeared to be a four pitch mix - got quite a few punch outs on an what looked to me like an 80-82 mph curve ball, also threw a slider, change and fastball that ranged 95 to 99 mph. Center fielder Johan Rojas cruised to catch a hard liner for the final out of the 7th inning - it was Painter’s longest outing at the AA level.

South Atlantic League ( High A ) - Hudson Valley 13 ( 69-55,35-23 ) Jersey Shore 2 ( 46-79, 21-38 )


Wappinger Falls, NY - Dutchess Stadium


Summary :


Hudson Valley scored twice in the second inning on two walks, a ground out that plated a run and two singles.  They scored two more in the third on a single, two fielders choices, an error and sac fly.


Kendall Simmons & Nick Matera singled in the fourth inning, Simmons later scored on a throwing error by HV first baseman TJ Rumfield.


Hudson Valley scored a run in the bottom of the 4th on a single, double and sac fly.


Jared Carr walked in the 5th inning, reached third on an errant pickoff throw by the HV pitcher and scored on a sac fly by Leandro Pineda.


Hudson Valley scored five in the 6th inning on five walks and a triple.  They scored an unearned run in the 8th on a walk, error, wild pitch and sac fly.  A triple by Aaron Palensky scored another run in the 8th, a single scored another.


On The Hill :


LH Rafael Marcano - 4 IP, 5 R - 3 earned, 7 H, 2 BB, 1 K - 80 pitches - 44 strikes

RH Sam Jacobsak - 1 perfect IP, 2 K’s - 11 pitches - 8 strikes

Summary :


Jamari Baylor doubled in the third inning, went to third base on a fly out and scored on a wild pitch.


Dom Johnson hit a home run for Lakeland in the bottom of the third.


Adinso Reyes hit a home run for Lakeland in the 4th inning.

Summary :


Lakeland scored a second inning run - Roberto Campos singled and scored on a double by Jose De La Cruz.


Erick Brito doubled in the third inning and scored on a double by Cade Fergus.


Lakeland scored a run in the 4th on a hit batter and two singles.


Adinso Reyes hit a home run for Lakeland in the 4th inning.  They scored two more runs in the 6th inning on a walk, double and single.
