Today at the complex :

Mini camp drills continued for the new fellas.  Otto Kemp & Andrew Walling were participating today as they officially signed contracts yesterday.  Saw Bryan Rincon & Gabriel Rincones Jr also today.  There were infield/outfield drills and base running instructions ( taught by base running coordinator Gary Cathcart ).  Justin Crawford seems to be an attentive student and very coachable as Coach Catchcart was showing him how to incorporate a lower base on leads and be in a running position at first crossover step - Justin was very observant.

BP was against the pitching machine this morning with it revved up for fastballs.  Cole Moore was tattooing em often with multiple drives over the right field fence.  Ryan Leitch had a strong round as well - both Gustavo Sosa & Jordan Dissan continue to impress with quick bats.  Ezra Farmer took awhile to adjust to the velocity and reads off the wheel but eventually timed it - his last round got an “attaboy” as he barreled multiple line drives.

Emaarion Boyd’s speed is every bit as advertised - he was positioned in right center field and easily ran down a fly ball that hugged the right field line making it look routine 👀 - that was impressive.  He’s all out hustle in shagging BP as well.

Pitchers threw mound sessions on the seven mounds and included rehabbers Eduar Segovia & Joel Cesar - two more power arms to add to the mix when they make their return.  I also saw new hurlers Eric Garcia ( he’s a big powerfully built fella ) and Mason Ronan throw albeit from a distance as I’m not allowed past the security gate to view the seven mounds up close.  Couldn’t tell what they threw but both seem to have easy, repeatable deliveries.

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
