International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 6 ( 49-41 ) Charlotte 3 ( 33-57 )


Charlotte, NC - Truist Field


Summary :


Dalton Guthrie was hit by a pitch in the first inning, he went to third on a double by Nick Maton and scored on a single by Donny Sands. Josh Ockimey hit a sac fly to score Maton.


The Iron Pigs scored four runs in the 7th inning - Josh Ockimey hit a grand slam scoring Donny Sands ( singled ), Nick Maton & Scott Kingery ( both walked ) in front of him.


Charlotte scored a run in the 8th on a double ( Xavier Fernandez ) and wild pitch.


Xavier Fernandez hit a two run home run for Charlotte in the bottom of the ninth.  They then loaded the bases with two outs  with two singles and a walk. Jakob Hernandez entered the game and struck out Adam Haseley to close the game.


On The Hill :

Nick Maton, Josh Ockimey, Donny Sands & Drew Maggi each had two hits.  Ockimey hit a grand slam home run and had five RBIs.  Maton doubled.

Summary :


Luis De Los Santos hit a solo home run for New Hampshire in the second inning.


Freddy Francisco doubled in the 4th inning to score Kevin Vicuna ( doubled ).


Johan Rojas was hit by a pitch to lead off the 5th inning, he stole second base, went to third on a ground out and scored when Jhailyn Ortiz reached on a fielding error.  Aldrem Corredor singled to score Ortiz.


New Hampshire scored two runs in the 6th inning on a strikeout/wild pitch, fielders choice, a couple of walks and a throwing error.


Jhailyn Ortiz walked in the 7th inning, moved to second on a passed ball, to third on a ground out and scored on a squeeze bunt by Jonathan Guzman.


On The Hill :

Summary :


Jared Carr homered in the second inning.


Carlos De La Cruz singled to score Luis Garcia ( walked ) in the third inning.


Jared Carr singled in the 4th inning, advanced to second on a balk and scored on a single by Rixon Wingrove.


Luis Garcia doubled in the 5th inning, he scored on a single by Carlos De La Cruz.  De La Cruz went to third base on a throwing error and scored on a single by Jared Carr.


Justin Williams walked in the 6th inning, went to third on a double by Luis Garcia and scored on a ground out by Ethan Wilson.  Carlos De La Cruz homered to score Garcia ahead of him.  Casey Martin doubled, Jared Carr walked, Herbert Iser singled to score Martin.


Ben Brown was brilliant - seven shutout frames - 13 K’s - allowed just 2 hits - retired first 9 batters faced in order - 6 with strikeouts - struck out 7 of the last 10 batters he faced


On The Hill :

Jared Carr also had a four hit day with a home run and two RBIs, he walked once and scored twice.

Luis Garcia had a day with three hits including two doubles, a walk and three runs scored, his wrist was still a bit sore when he left Clearwater - results today indicate he’s feeling much better 🤓.   Carlos De La Cruz had three hits including a home run and four RBIs.

Florida State League ( Low A ) - Clearwater 5 ( 42-44, 7-14 ) Fort Myers 4 ( 48-34, 7-11 ) - 10 innings

Summary :


Carlos Aguiar homered for Fort Myers in the second inning.


Andrick Nava walked in the 4th inning and scored on a triple by Micah Yonamine.


Noah Cardenas homered for Fort Myers in the bottom of the 4th inning.   They scored another run in the 5th on two singles, a ground out and a sacrifice fly.


Marcus Lee Sang & Kendall Simmons singled in the 6th inning, Lee Sang scored on a single by Arturo De Freitas.  Simmons scored on a ground out by Micah Yonamine.  Wilfredo Flores singled to score De Freitas.


With one out in the bottom of the seventh the game went into rain delay.  The delay was brief.


Fort Myers loaded the bases in the 8th on three singles, they tied the game on a sacrifice fly out by Rubel Cespedas.


The game went into extra innings tied at four apiece.


Kendall Simmons singled with two outs to score placed runner Leandro Pineda in the top of the 10th.


Keoni Cavaco singled for Fort Myers in the bottom of the 10th sending placed runner Noah Miller to third base.  A walk loaded the bases with two outs.  Alex Garbrick struck out Rubel Cespedes to end the game and seal the win !
