Michael Toglia hit his 23rd home run of the season for Hartford in the second to give them a 1-0 lead.
Wendell Rijo tied the score with a home run in the third inning, Jack Conley put Reading up one with a home run in the fourth inning.
Carlos De La Cruz doubled to score Jhailyn Ortiz ( singled ) in the 5th inning.
Hartford scored twice in the 6th on two singles, a hit batter and a double.
Simon Muzziotti singled in the 7th, went to third on a double by Wendell Rijo and later scored after two walks were issued. A fielding error allowed Rijo to score.
