International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 6 ( 18-15 ) Buffalo 2 ( 18-15 )


Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :


Darick “Long Ball” Hall hammered his 11th home run of the season in the first inning scoring three runs ( Matt Vierling & Austin Wynns scored in front of him - both had singled ).


Buffalo scored twice in the third inning - key blows being doubles by Eric Stamets and Nathan Lukes.


The Iron Pigs scored two in the fifth inning - Matt Vierling reached on an error, went to third base on a single by Darick Hall who advanced to second on a walk to Dustin Peterson. Nick Maton singled to score Vierling & Hall.


Austin Wynns delivered an RBI single in the seventh inning scoring Dalton Guthrie ( reached on FC and stole second and third base )

On The Hill :

Eastern League ( AA ) - Reading 11 ( 13-17 ) Bowie 6 ( 13-15 )

Reading, PA - First Energy Stadium


Summary :


Bowie scored a first inning run. They scored again in the third inning.


Reading plated five in the bottom of the third - Sal Gozzo & Ali Castillo singled and Jhailyn Ortiz followed with a walk to load the bases. Aldrem Corredor singled to plate two. Logan O’Hoppe doubled to score two more. Jack Conley singled to score O’Hoppe.


Josh Ockimey homered in the fifth inning scoring Jhailyn Ortiz ( singled ) in front of him.


Jhailyn Ortiz hit a grand slam home run in the sixth inning.


Hudson Haskins hit a solo homer for Bowie in the seventh - Jordan Westburg hit a three run home run.


On The Hill :

Summary :


Johan Rojas led off the game with a single, stole second base and went to third on a balk. Ethan Wilson singled and stole second base. Casey Martin hit a sac fly to score Rojas. MCarthy Tatum singled to score Wilson.


Heriberto Hernandez hit a solo home run for Bowling Green in the second inning. They scored twice in the third on a home run by Ronny Simon. Simon hit a three run home run in the 4th inning.


Johan Rojas singled in the sixth, stole second base ( 18th of season ) and scored on a home run by McCarthy Tatum. Jared Carr doubled and scored on a triple by Andrik Nava.

On The Hill :


RH Cristian Hernandez - 5 IP, 6 R, 7 H, 0 BB, 4 K’s - 70 pitches - 53 strikes

RH Carlo Reyes - 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K - 15 pitches - 9 strikes

Johan Rojas had two hits, stole two bases and scored twice - had a feeling he’s gonna heat up. McCarthy Tatum had two hits including a home run and three RBIs. Jared Carr doubled & Andrik Nava tripled.


Florida State League ( Low A ) - Clearwater 4 ( 15-12 ) Daytona 2 ( 13-17 )


Clearwater, FL - BayCare BallPark


Summary :


Kendall Simmons reached on an error in the first inning and scored on a double by Hao Yu Lee with Lee advancing to third base on the thrown home. Jadiel Sanchez grounded out to score Lee.

Anthony Quirion doubled in the second inning, he scored on a single by Alexeis Azuaje.


Daytona scored in the fourth inning on an infield single and RBI double by Jamal O’Guinn.


Hao Yu Lee led off the bottom of the sixth with a home run to right field.


Daytona scored a run in the ninth in a single by Jay Allen after two batters reached on a walk and HBP. Allen was thrown out at second base attempting to steal by Catcher Arturo DeFreitas - his second caught stealing of the game.


On The Hill :


RH Jean Cabrera - 4 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 6 K’s - 53 pitches - 35 strikes - FB - 91-94 mph, got a lot of swings and misses on curve ball ( low 80’s mph ) and changeup. Great mechanics and consistently around the plate - excellent debut - was perfect thru first three innings.


RH Eiberson Castellano - 3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 4 K’s - 38 pitches - 27 strikes - 91-94 FB, low 80’s slider/curve and mid 80’s change up - also has exemplary mechanics - uses whole body albeit not as compact - big frame like Francisco Morales - we’ve been impressed since seeing him on backfields.


RH Tommy McCollum - 1 2/3 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 1 K - 27 pitches - 14 strikes

RH Konnor Ash - 1/3 IP - retired only batter he faced - K - 5 pitches - 3 strikes


At Bat : 8 H, 2 BB, 7 K’s


Hao Yu Lee, Marcus Lee Sang & Anthony Quirion each had two hits. Lee and Quirion doubled and Lee homered. Watching Hao Yu Lee hit in person can’t help but envision the 19 year old as a major leaguer in his future - just takes a very professional approach - gets his pitch and usually doesn’t miss it - impressive.
