Thursday, June 30th : Minor League Roundup


International League ( AAA ) - Syracuse 7 ( 31-43 ) Lehigh Valley 6 ( 40-35 ) - ten innings


Syracuse, NY - NBT Bank Stadium


Summary :


Dalton Guthrie walked in the first inning and scored on a two run home run by Will Toffey.


Mark Vientos hit a home run for Syracuse in the bottom of the first inning.


Jorge Bonifacio hit a two run home run in the third inning scoring Josh Ockimey ( doubled ) in front of him.


Edgar Cabral hit a home run in the 4th inning. Daniel Robertson hit a home run in the 5th inning.


Syracuse scored in the 7th on a single, stolen base and RBI single. They scored four in the 8th on a single, two walks, two hit by pitches and a double.


The game went into extra innings, LHV didn’t score in their half of the 10th - Syracuse won the game on a walk off walk. The placed runner went to third on a balk - the next two batters were put on base intentionally and the next batter walked on four pitches to end the game. 🤦‍♂️


On The Hill :

Summary :


Aldrem Corredor singled in the second inning, went to third on a double by Wendell Rijo and scored on a ground out by Jack Conley on which Rijo advanced to third base. Rijo then scored on a wild pitch.


Chad Bell homered for Somerset in the 5th inning.


Anthony Volpe doubled in the 8th inning and scored on a single by Jeisson Rosario.


Somerset scored four in the top of the 9th as they loaded the bases on two singles and a walk and Anthony Volpe hit a two run single. A bases loaded walk and a wild pitch scored two more runs.


On The Hill :

Summary :


Kevin Strohschein homered for Wilmington in the third inning.


Freylin Minyety reached on an error to start the fifth, he went to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Uziel Viloria. Ethan Wilson hit a home run to score Viloria ahead of him.


Wilmington scored two in the sixth on a hit batter, walk and two singles. They scored three in the seventh on two singles, a walk and two doubles.

Jared Carr walked in the 8th inning and scored on a double by Baron Radcliff.

Summary :


Eduardo Valencia led off the 5th inning for Lakeland with a home run. Lazaro Benitez doubled and scored on a single by Alvaro Gonzalez.

Kendall Simmons doubled in the 6th inning and scored on a single by Leandro Pineda. Jamari Baylor singled to score Pineda. Two more runs scored on a ground out by Nicolas Torres & fielding error.


Marcus Lee Sang singled in the 7th, stole second base and scored on a single by Micah Yonamine.


Tommy McCollum left after one pitch on what appeared to be an ankle injury on a hard grounder up the middle. It was fielded by SS Erick Brito who threw out the runner at first.


On The Hill :

Summary :


The two teams played four innings before the game was cancelled due to a relatively sudden heavy rain storm. The game was tied at two apiece when action was halted - it was suspended and will be finished on July 7th.

Jose Pena Jr threw well early in his first three innings before running into some difficulty in the 4th inning. Yemal Flores homered over the left field wall for the Phillies - his teammates “froze” him when he came back to the bench before erupting in a low cheer and celebration 😎.


Dominican Summer League :


Phillies Red ( 12-6 ) - scheduled off day


Phillies White 2 ( 11-8 ) Colorado 1 ( 14-6 ) - called after six innings - weather


Summary :


The Phillies scored twice in the first inning on a home run by Manolfi Jimenez - the first of his pro career.


Colorado scored a run in the 4th inning on an RBI double by Erick Bautista.


The game was called after six innings due to rain.
