International League ( AAA ) - Lehigh Valley 10 ( 37-30 ) Norfolk 7 ( 32-35 )


Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :


Norfolk scored two runs in the 4th inning on a double by former Phillies minor leaguer Jonathan Arauz.


Terrin Vavra hit a bases loaded double to score two for Norfolk in the 5th, Jordan Westburg then hit a three run home run.


Scott Kingery hit a home run in the bottom of the 5th for the Iron Pigs first hit of the game. Dalton Guthrie singled, went to second on a ground out and scored when Drew Maggi reached on an error. Darick Hall singled to score Maggi. Hall moved to third on singles by Rafael Marchan & Jorge Bonifacio. Will Toffey hit a sac fly to score Hall. Dustin Peterson singled to score Marchan.


Darick Hall hit a three run home run in the 8th, his 18th of the season to score Dalton Guthrie ( singled ) and Drew Maggi ( walked ).


Dustin Peterson homered in the seventh inning. Mickey Moniak homered in the 8th inning.

Summary :


Kevin Vicuna doubled in the third inning and scored on a double by Vito Friscia, ( both against Max Scherzer ).


Francisco Alvarez hit a three run home run for Binghamton in the third inning, his 16th of the season. They then loaded the bases on two singles and a walk after which Zach Ashford doubled off the center field wall to clear them.


Jhailyn Ortiz went deep into the left field bleachers against Scherzer in the fourth inning.


Vito Friscia hit his second double of the game in the 5th inning and scored on a single by Ali Castillo.


Jhailyn Ortiz singled in the 6th inning and scored on a home run by Wendell Rijo. Jonathan Guzman then went back to back to give Reading the lead.

Vito Friscia had two doubles. Jhailyn Ortiz singled & homered. Ali Castillo had two hits. Wendell Rijo & Jonathan Guzman each hit home runs. Kevin Vicuna doubled and Josh Ockimey tripled.


Notes :


Binghamton started 37 year old RHP Max Scherzer on the hill on rehab assignment. C Brian McCann also played on rehab assignment for the Rumble Ponies. Scherzer went 3 1/3 innings - the last hitter he faced was Jhailyn Ortiz who crushed one into the left field bleachers. Sold out stadium this evening in Binghamton to see Scherzer pitch.

Summary :


Carlos De La Cruz was hit by a pitch to lead off the game, he advanced to third on a single by Ethan Wilson and scored on a double play groundout by Johan Rojas. Rixon Wingrove then hit a solo home run.


DJ Stewart & Casey Martin singled in the 4th inning, Stewart advanced to third on a fly ball and scored on a groundout by Herbert Iser.


Tanner Murphy homered for Brooklyn in the 8th, JT Schwartz singled and scored on a double by Nic Gaddis.


Brooklyn scored twice in the bottom of the 9th on a single, walk, fly out, wild pitch and game winning sac fly to left field by Matt Rudick.


On The Hill :

Summary :


Tampa scored a run in the first inning - the first two batters singled however Jasson Dominguez was thrown out at second base attempting to steal by rehab assignment catcher Donny Sands with Alexander Vargas advancing to third base, he later scored on a fielding error by third baseman Nicolas Torres.


Grant Richardson was hit by a pitch in the second inning for Tampa - he scored on a double off the bat of Connor Cannon.


In the 5th inning Wilfredo Flores walked, Micah Yonamine singled and Kendall Simmons was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Leandro Pineda doubled to score two runs. Donny Sands singled to score Pineda.


On The Hill :
