International League ( AAA ) - Rochester 4 ( 42-38 ) Lehigh Valley 0 ( 43-37 )

Summary :


Jake Noll homered for Rochester in the second inning.


Noll doubled to score Joey Meneses ( singled ) & Riley Adams ( singled ) in the third inning.


Joey Meneses delivered an RBI single for Rochester in the 7th inning.


Chris Sharpe doubled for Lehigh’s first hit and base runner of the game in the 6th inning.


On The Hill :


LH Kent Emanuel - 5 2/3 IP, 3 R, 8 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s - 87 pitches - 60 strikes

LH Ryan Sherriff - 1 1/3 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 1 HB, 2 K’s - 19 pitches - 13 strikes

Notes :


First baseman Josh Ockimey made an incredible pick on a low throw from Ryan Sherriff in the 7th inning 😳.


Eastern League ( AA ) - Richmond 5 ( 43-34,3-5 )- Reading 2 ( 33-44, 4-4 )


Richmond, VA - The Diamond


Summary :


Frankie Tostado hit a grand slam home run for Richmond in the third inning ( they had loaded the bases on a double & two walks ).


Kevin Vicuna got Reading’s first hit of the game in the 7th, a single after Wendell Rijo walked.  Jonathan Guzman scored Rijo with a double.


Richmond scored an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh on two singles and a fielding error by right fielder Jhailyn Ortiz.


Reading loaded the bases on walks with two outs in the 8th inning, Kevin Vicuna then walked to force in a run. A strikeout ended the inning with no further damage.


On The Hill :


RH Griff McGarry - 2 1/3 IP,  3 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 2 WP, 3 K’s - 52 pitches - 27 strikes ( 51 % )


RH Braden Zarbnisky - 2 2/3 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 5 K’s - 35 pitches - 28 strikes - 3 inherited runners scored - retired last 8 batters faced

RH Matt Seelinger - 2 IP, 1 unearned R, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - 25 pitches - 16 strikes

Jonathan Guzman doubled.  Jhailyn Ortiz singled and walked twice.  Wendell Rijo walked three times - besides Ortiz three other Reading batters walked twice each.


Notes :


Logan O’Hoppe returned to the lineup as the DH after a battle with the flu bag and a bit of time to regain strength.


South Atlantic League ( High A ) - Hudson Valley 9 ( 40-37, 6-5 ) Jersey Shore 3 ( 27-49, 2-8 )


Lakewood, NJ - ShoreTown Ballpark


Summary :


Hudson Valley loaded the bases in the top of the 1st inning on two walks and a hit batter.  A run scored on a 5-4-3 double play grounder, nice grab by third baseman DJ Stewart and exceptional turn by second baseman Luis Garcia.


Carlos De La Cruz doubled in the second inning and went to third on a ground out.  DJ Stewart was hit by a pitch.  He and De La Cruz executed a double steal with Carlos scoring.


Hudson Valley pulled off the second/home plate double steal in the 4th inning to score their second run.  Have seen the double steal just about every week this season in the minor leagues - not a fan 🤦‍♂️.


Baron Radcliff homered to lead off the 5th inning.


Carlos Narvaez doubled in the 7th inning, two walks loaded the bases.  Everson Pereira doubled to score three runs.


Narvaez singled in a run in the 8th inning, with the bases jammed ( 2 walks & a single ) three more runs scored on a throwing error by first baseman Rixon Wingrove.


Herbert Iser walked in the 9th inning, went to third on a single by DJ Stewart and scored on a balk.


On The Hill :


LH Rafael Marcano - 4 IP, 2 R, 1 H, 4 BB, 2 HB, 5 K’s - 72 pitches - 38 strikes - fastball reached 95/96 mph but was erratic with control and command - first start at High A for the 22 year old.


RH Kyle Glogoski - 2 1/3 IP, 2 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 37 pitches - 25 strikes

LH Erubiel Armenta - 2/3 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 1 K - 27 pitches - 16 strikes - 2 inherited runners scored

LH JP Woodward - 1 IP, 4 R - 2 earned, 2 H, 2 BB, 0 K’s - 29 pitches - 13 strikes

RH Jonathan Hughes - 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s - 21 pitches - 12 strikes

Carlos De La Cruz had two hits including a double.  Baron Radcliff homered.


Notes :


Luis Garcia was activated prior to the game.


Pitching coach Brad Bergensen was ejected in the 7th inning by the home plate umpire for arguing balls & strikes.  A pitch by Erubiel Armenta was called a ball that would have been the final out of the inning on a K - afterwards the batter hit a double that broke the game open.

Florida State League ( Low A ) - Dunedin 7 ( 35-41, 7-3 ) - Clearwater 0 ( 37-39, 2-9 )

Summary :


Dunedin scored twice in the first inning on a Gabriel Martinez home run.  Jommer Hernandez singled in the second inning, advanced to third on an error a wild pitch and scored on a ground out.


Dunedin scored two more in the third inning on a double, single ground out runner advance and wild pitch.


Adriel Sotolongo homered for the Blue Jays in the 6th inning.  Jommer Hernandez hit an RBI single in the 8th inning.


On The Hill :


RH Elberson Castellano - 4 IP, 5 R - 4 earned, 5 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 61 pitches - 39 strikes

RH Sam Jacobsak - 2 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 24 pitches - 18 strikes
